Comfortable boot with nice detailing, but the jury is still out on quality..
Right out of the box these boots were extremely comfortable. I was quite pleased and am looking forward to hiking in them. Per comments in other reviews, I hope that they last and are durable.I did read through many of the reviews before purchasing these and was surprised that no one commented on the reflective strip in the back the sides and the top, which was one of the things that caught my attention first, but maybe that’s because I’m often out after dusk. I like how the back reflective ribbon strip can also be used as a hook to help you put on your boot. However, I can see why another reviewer thought that the tongue of the boot could be a little thicker and wider but I think I’m gonna have to log a few miles or several miles before I can adequately review that function.I did not need to put in my own arch support so far, though the insole that these boots come with are quite flimsy, so at some point that might be a good idea. I think it must be the design of the boot itself that is so comfortable and is unrelated to the “arch support” insert . But it is removable so it’s not a dealbreaker.Several people did mention the fabric part between the leather upper and the rubber bottom tore easily, and I could kind of see how that could happen, as well as comments about having issues with the adhesive between the boot upper and the bottom rubber traction part, coming unglued. Since I have not worn them outside yet, I don’t know how durable of a pair I received, but at the moment, because they are so comfortable for me, which is rare, I am going to try them out and keep them. After doing a thorough exam it appears, and I could be wrong, that rather than an issue of the quality of the workmanship involved with the shoes falling apart quickly, it could be more of an issue of the glue that they use and the type of adhesive. Bad batch? different manufacturer? You know, like vitamin companies... Quality of different manufacturers is quite discernible if you are sensitive to it.

Keen boots: good fit for activities
I’m getting ready for a bigger hike than I am used to taking in Colorado. I’ve been wearing these Keens as often as I can and I love them. They’re waterproof and that has come in handy during flash floods up here.

Very comfortable with support and great grip
These boots are amazing! So comfortable and definitely waterproof. No break in period and have great treads. Runs true to size.I wore them on a trip to Iceland and they kept me warm and dry.

Great overall
Very comfortable shoes. They are definitely waterproof I used them in the snow and no issues with them. They did felt cold inside near the tip of the shoe at times, I was using thermal socks, it is my first time with this kind of shoe so I don’t know if I did something wrong. But great overall.

I LOVE MY KEEN TARGHEES!
I really love theses boots! I love the Keen brand in general because of the wider toe box. But these boots have been particularly nice! They were comfortable right out of the box! They have stayed waterproof. The sole has stayed firmly attached to the boot, but if you were to have a problem. Keen’s customer service is top notch! And on top of it all, they look good, too!

Keen boots are awesome on my foot, can wear them on a long hike right out of the box
I love Keen hiking boots, the foot last (shape of the boot) really works for me and I won't buy any other hiking boots anymore. I have 5 pairs of Keen hiking boots, and these are top notch quality just like my other ones. I bought these on sale I think because they were an older year model, who cares, I love them. I actually love the older model boots because more than likely I've already worn that boot and know what to expect. Love that vendors will put both new and older model Keen boots on Amazon; you can get amazing value that way. They run true to size for me, they have excellent slip resistance, grip on wet rock (be careful on wet wood in the Pacific Northwest of course), they're lightweight, waterproof, but breath pretty well in the summer on my foot.

So disappointed in the warmth : (
I found this boot by searching Best WARM winter hiking boots. I have yet to find a wool /wool blend sock, or sock & sock liner combination that keeps my toes warm in my daily hour walk in the 30°s.I bought 1/2 size larger, and a big PRO, roomy toe box, so that's not the problem. They just don't feel thick enough to be insulating. No break in needed, but they just don't feel comfortable, or cradling to the foot. Also, the Keen site touts the flexibility of the sole and it is so thin...one reason I think they aren't warm. Also the thinness of the sole leaves me with tired feet. The cleat spaces on the sole are small and pick up gravel that has to be picked out after each daily walk. They are barely mid-high compared to every other mid-high I've owned. They are mid-ankle. The tongue is barely wide enough and I have serious doubts as to their waterproof quality because of that.Nice looking and seem well-made. I probably wouldn't have kept them except they were used too much before I knew they are not warm.
