Miracle-GroGarden Feeder Hose End Sprayer, with All Purpose Plant Food

I bought this to replace what I thought was exactly the same thing. Unfortunately my 20 year old one had an extra feature whereby you could turn a dial to ‘Water & Feed’ or just ‘Water Only’. This one doesn’t have that option, thus the 4 stars. I’m going to miss that option as I have a half dozen bird baths throughout my gardens and I used to be able to just turn the dial and fill them. Now I have to kink the hose and remove the whole thing for each birdbath which is a pain. Otherwise these are great.

I bought this and out of the package it leaked so much it was completely unusable. Straight to the trash. But as it was useless I decided to take it apart. In doing so I found the water path is in two parts - the trigger manifold and a mixing feed path. These are connected using an o-ring seal. The ring is WAY too small. Hence the leak. I over wrapped it with about 5 layers of plumbers tape. Put back together and it works like a charm.

The fertilizer powder is in a container which attaches to the garden hose - and the stream of water dissolves the right amount of fertilizer as one sprays the flower beds. When all the fertilizer is gone, it is easy to "recharge" the container with the miracle-grow fertilizer bought separately. Suggested use is every two weeks - I am not sure how long it takes to empty the container. I usually notice significant improvement in the flowering plants within a few days. The same fertilizer and the same type of connection to the watering hose is available in smaller plastic bottles, but it is impossible to recharge the bottles and they are more expensive also.

I use this every Friday and my garden has taken off exponentially. Super easy to use requires no thought to mix and use the the nozzle on this is the perfect watering can nozzle. works well and my plants love it. I purchased the miracle grow feed to have to use with this when I run out of what came with it. Great price products works excellent your garden will love this !
