Be Well by Kelly Grass Finished Beef Protein Powder Vanilla Flavor

I have no idea why this protein powder doesn’t have 5 stars. It is my favorite protein powder ever. I have tried vanilla and chocolate and both are amazing. I always order from amazon and every bag has been consistent in quality and taste. I put it in smoothies, oatmeal, coffee, and I also tried Kelly’s recipe on her website for a walnut based cookie dough- it’s amazing. I have really loved putting it in my coffee, it blends super well. I froth 1 TBSP of the vanilla protein in some heated almond milk first and then add my pour over coffee afterward and froth again. It is SO GOOD! I’m currently using it while pregnant and love that it also includes collagen. It has been a super easy way for me to meet my protein goals. I also love that it doesn’t have any sugar in it besides, the monk fruit, but the taste is still amazing. My husband and 3 yr old love Be Well protein powders as well and I have also introduced it to other family members that have told me it is their new favorite protein powder. It’s a super great option for those who don’t tolerate whey based protein powders, like my husband. He digests this amazingly with zero issues. I also appreciate having a non-whey protein powder for myself as I recently learned that whey/dairy can cause acne in some individuals, like myself. Since cutting out dairy/whey, I have noticed a huge improvement in my skin. Overall, it’s a fantastic protein powder!

I can’t stomach this and it’s not returnable. I had one dose and it tasted like a gas station cappuccino. Way too sweet and a weird after taste. I’m very disappointed!

First impression review - pretty damn good! I've been using a plant based protein (pea) for many many years now. At the time I started using pea protein there weren't really a lot of clean beef protein options out there and really - it just wasn't an option I thought existed. I've since learned some things and I know that pea protein can be hard to digest for some people and I was getting really tired of the taste of mine so wanted to make the switch. Finding a clean protein powder is really hard. I was specifically looking for grass fed, no stevia, no natural flavors - and hopefully tasting good. I find artificial sweeteners pretty intolerable in protein powders because most just taste SO fake and give the smoothie an overly sweet flavor. I want my smoothie to taste like fruit and food - not fake sugar. The flavor of this one is great - the sweetness is really mild and doesn't overpower the drink at all. As far as the texture - I think it's important to note how exactly you want to use this powder. A lot of people expect to use protein powders in a shaker cup or even with a little drink mixer/frother thing but I think those methods work best for powders that have been formulated for that and have ingredients to make it smooth and super fine. I suspect maybe some people who had clumping are using those methods. With a powder as clean as this one - you can probably expect a different outcome. I make smoothies in a nutribullet with other ingredients like almond milk, fruit, chia seeds, etc and the texture turned out fine - just a little thicker than my usual pea protein so I think I will have to adjust the liquid content. I'm super happy with the flavor and I love that this is such a clean product.

UPDATE: their customer service reached out to me, they offered a refund AND a complimentary bag of the unflavored powder! I accepted and am really satisfied with it, it truly has no flavor or aftertaste!! I’ve been using it in all sorts of foods, smoothies, and even hot beverages. You do need to blend it for the texture to be right, just putting in a shaker bottle does not fully dissolve it, which is not an issue for me since I’m always adding fats and fiber to my protein for better absorption. Highly recommend the unflavored version, will buy it again! ORIGINAL: I was REALLY hoping this was going to be THE protein powder I would finally be loyal to. Unfortunately, the vanilla flavor is unbearably sweet. It does mix very well, doesn’t have any weird after taste, and has a great protein amount. Wondering if I should try the unflavored, but with no satisfaction guarantee or returns it feels like too much risk.

This protein is decent Good ingredients Awful blend ability so it is chalky The taste is 8/10 No stomach issues Price for the protein is pretty normal for a the good quality protein No fillers no gums no stevia or artificial flavors so don’t expect some great tasting easy to mix protein. Just suck it up and drink it.

Incredible, simple, clean protein powder. Taste is awesome and leaves you feeling satiated.

It doesn’t mix with water? So you end up with chunks like wet peanut butter floating in gelatinous soup. The “vanilla” flavor kind of reminds me of chocolate, but with broth up front. The aftertaste is metallic. 5 minutes after I opened it, I wish I could have my money back. Is this product a prank? How could someone sell this to innocent people? It’s inhumane. UPDATE: I just learned from this company that this is not AT ALL a “beef” protein product. It’s just collagen / bone broth protein, so this is false advertising and you are probably entitled to a refund if it was sold to you as “beef”. Here is their response to my question about the source: “This protein powder is not derived from dehydrated meat that is then ground into a fine powder. Our unique grass-fed beef protein isolate is derived from the extracted protein and amino acids from the fleshy bones, tendons, and joints of hormone- and antibiotic-free animals.
