WARNING THIS CARD HAS A TIME BOMB
After using this card for a couple of days there were some weird quirks that are kinda expected with a card of this nature. However i have just tested the card for a time bomb and it does indeed have one. A time bomb essentially is a peice of code in the firmware that will tell the r4 card to stop working after about a year or so even though the card is completly functional. This is so you will rebuy a new card from them. There are fixes ranging from keeping the date back a couple years as well as changing the firmware so it doesnt have this issue but if you dont want to have the wrong date or dont want to tinker with the firmware, DO NOT BUY THIS CARD. Besides the timebomb, it is a fairly run of the mill card with a "fairly" straitforward user interface. However there are some quirks with the media player that make it difficult to load media. I have also had some trouble with it seemingly randomly shutting down as well as making the power indicator led flash different colors. Although im not certain that either of these are caused by the r4 because i got this ds used and havent taken it apart to see the state of the internals quite yet. I would honestly just buy something else unless youre partial to the color gold or something. The quality control is something less to be desiered as my card came with an upsidedown sticker, for some reason, and if they dont quality controll something externally i doubt they do much internally.TLDR:Just buy a differant flash card. its not worth it

Nice flashcart, however it does have a timebomb.
This R4 card definitely works and it does as advertised. However, like some other flashcarts, there is the issue of timebombs, which if you didn't know, sometimes after a certain date, your card tries to tell you that it's not working anymore to trick you into buying a new one, so I had to install an alternative kernel which doesn't have a timebomb, but after the timebomb issue is resolved, you'll really like this flashcart. Wi-Fi and local multiplayer also work.
