HD Plastic Shock Cord Bungee Rope Hooks (12 Pack)

I like to make my own bungee cords so I can get the length just right for a certain application. I use the regular bungee hook on one end and then this hook on the other so I can modify the length if I need to. It holds really well considering how easy it is to apply, and holds under difficult circumstances. Although some of my applications aren't stressful, like holding the cover over my stacked wood, some are. I use a garden tractor to cut a small pasture in summer, but also to haul a leaf vac in fall. The leaf vac uses a special attachment that required me removing the holder for the grass cutting deflector. Come summer I needed a way to reattach the deflector that was sturdy and reliable but could also give some if I needed to get into a tight area. I modified it so I could attach it with a bungee cord and you can bet that cord is put to the test with all the vibration, items hitting it and being lifted at times as well. This hook holds the bungee tight through all that without any problem.

I use my hooks constantly. I have elastic rope and I use the hooks to make a "web" to cover my truck bed. These hooks are handy and so easy to use. That being said they don't stand up well to sun and elements, the plastic gets brittle very fast -- that being said it could be that it's the environment, I live in a tropical climate near the ocean and almost nothing plastic or rubber can handle the salt

I got really tired of buying the usual "assortment" of bungee cords that were all too often not very good quality. Also got tired of the marks the metal hooks on the low quality bungees sometimes make. When I found these plastic bungee cord hooks I knew I'd found my solution. I bought a bulk roll of shock cord which turns out to be of much higher quality than the premade bungees. Now I custom make my bungee cords for various applications. Problem solved! I WILL be buying more of these...

These hooks work much better for 3/8" bungee cord than the last set I purchased. They are sturdy and large, I use them to hold outdoor furniture together so they don't blow around. I also used it with grommets to keep the grill cover from flapping around. I like being able to create custom length cords, especially for larger items. My only criticism is that the way the cord loops around the hook locks it in place well, but it's not as neat of a look as a fully enclosed hook. I will take the good function over a polished look for my needs, especially since that other style didn't work for my use.

Sometimes the cord comes loose from the hook, which can be dangerous if it hits you.

I read in some reviews that 5/16 bungee cord does not fit. My 5/16 fit just fine. The hooks are very sturdy and it is very easy to attach to the cord to the hook. I don't know how well the cord will stand up to the weather, but I am impressed with the feel of both the cord and the hooks.

These have worked out great for me. Securely holds 1/4 inch bungee cord. I don't know how it would hold other cord diameters but the catch portion on the back is graduated so it should work.One great benefit of using these to make your own bungee cords is that they are adjustable meaning you can easily fasten and unfasten the hooks to adjust the length
