How does it compare to the apple MagSafe charger?

I'm pretty sure this is a genuine Apple product. I purchased this item here on Amazon, the product title includes a link to "Visit the Apple Store" and this charger came in Apple packaging. It does get the warmer than a standard charger. As Apple Support states: As with other wireless chargers, your iPhone or MagSafe Charger might get slightly warmer while your iPhone charges. They also state that the software may limit charging at 80% if it gets too warm to protect the life of the battery.

Does this charge with otter box commuter series case? It’s basically plastic

I tried 3 different cases and IT DID NOT CHARGE!
Otter box, pelican, & Gviewin. Apparently you need to purchase a mag safe ring, which this seller does not mention which makes this useless without the MagSafe ring. Tried charging Iphone 13, 13 pro & 14 pro. The only way I was able to charge my phones was by removing the cases which defeats the purpose.

How do you connect your phone to wireless charger?

Just plug in the charger, put the pad part down on a flat surface like a desk or table, and place the phone (screen facing up) on top of it. If it's a MagSafe phone (12+ or with a compatible case on older models) it'll magnetically lock into place; otherwise it'll just rest on top of the pad. Either way it should begin charging, if not you probably either 1. have too thick of a case on the phone, 2. forgot to plug in the charger, or 3. have an old model iPhone that doesn't support wireless charging in the first place (it was added with iPhone 8).

Can you use the mag charger (and charging) and have an a microphone plugged into the lightning port while vlogging?

Accepted Answer

Yes. This will attach to the back of the phone and charge as long as it’s connected. You can do whatever else you want on your phone simultaneously, including using lightning port accessories.
