2-Light 2000W Fluorescent Lighting Kit

The softbox was easy to set up. Like anything, if you follow the setup instructions it will go well. YouTube videos were helpful. I was amazed a the light output from these lights. The 3 switches on the back of the light helped to regulate the output. I plan to use this for YouTube videos but they are also useful for photography and videography in a studio space. Can't wait to try the LED panels from this company. All entire packaging was delivered with no breakage and all components worked out of the box.

while this isn't a professional lighting kit, it get's the job done pretty well for what it is. I'd suggest replacing the kit bulbs with a slightly more powerful set of LEDs (high CRI rating if you can find them). Just keep in mind that these are very cheaply made so you need to be careful with transporting them. the main thing to be careful with is the power socket, it is a bit brittle and may brake over time f you aren't careful with it. If you don;t have the budget for a more professional lighting kit, these are a good entry level option until you can replace them with something better.

Overall this is a quality product with a couple of faults. First of all, the kit comes with two soft box light setups, including stand, lighting head, 10 45W fluorescent bulbs, reflector, and light diffusers. It produces very nice soft light. The lighting head itself has three switches on it, which can be used to control the five bulbs. Two of the switches control two bulbs, whereas one switch controls a single bulb in the middle. Flaws: the setup is not easy. It's not horrible, but it could be a lot easier. The "box" reflector is held in shape by four poles that have to be inserted one end into the box and the other end into the lighting head. Getting the poles in place is very challenging. You'll want to do this without the bulbs inserted, as you can knock over the entire rig or smash one of the bulbs with a pole. Second, the lighting head itself appears not to be UL rated and is the cheapest component here. The bulb sockets look cheap, and are poorly threaded. It was nearly impossible to get a bulb into one of the sockets. We've been making bulb sockets for how many years now? I'm always concerned about poorly made electrical devices as there is risk of fire or shock. Finally, the light will consume about 2A when fully on, so both together will be 4A. LED lighting is much more efficient. You'll definitely want to switch these off when not in use, and if you have 15A circuits like I do, running a lot of these at once could trip your breaker. Aside from these caveats, I think this is a good lighting kit at a reasonable price.

It takes little efforts to assemble them (15 mins) These lights are perfect for my home studio which I usually use for taking pictures of my wife's paintings. They are powerful so after 15 mins of use you can feel the heat around it. Build quality of stand is strictly OK but you get what you pay.

For those looking to have a lighting setup that will not require them to constantly disassemble on a daily to weekly basis, this kit will probably be a worthwhile investment. Unfortunately, within a day of using this kit, one of the heads decided to malfunction and the center bulb stopped working. Besides that, the kit puts out adequate light, though I am hesitant to say whether or not the light output is exactly what I expected. I wanted this setup for video review purposes. While the kit advertises a 2000W output with 10 bulbs, keep in mind that the softboxes this comes with will feature TWO layers of diffusers which will significantly reduce the light output as opposed to using the bulbs bare. It will come down to the decision of how soft or hard you want your light to be when using them for it to truly put out 2000W of light. This is purely unscientific, but I would estimate the total light output when using both softboxes to be around half of what the name advertises. I do not think this is false advertising on the seller's part, but it is simply how softboxes work. More layers of diffusion = less light output. Simple as that. I would suggest buying bigger and higher output bulbs and using less diffusion for anyone else. Otherwise, the stands, as expected, are not ideal, but for the price they certainly do the job they're set out to do. The softboxes aren't so weighty that they'll tip over on their own, but you will definitely want to make sure no one bumps into them or they'll certainly tip over. Needless to say, take care of this kit. For what you're paying, the parts will eventually break if you don't. But for the job they're set out to do and for how much it costs, it works as expected. Just hope you don't get a bad socket head like I did and you're golden.

I ordered this to see good review.These soft box is good enough for any video or photography.but the cable of one soft box does not fit well.so everytime need to push the cable harder to turn on the light.

Softboxen haben einen deutschen Stecker, keinen England Stecker. Zusammenbauanleitung hier in Produktbeschreibung auf Amazon. Bin kurz ins Schwitzen gekommen bevor ich sie gefunden habe ;-) Bin sehr zufrieden, die besten Softboxen (vom Licht und der Einstellung) die ich bisher hatte.

I can't really find anything to fault with this product. It arrived on time and was easy to assemble. There really isn't much in the way of assembling to do, to be honest. The only tip I could give would be to make sure that you attach the four metal rods to the lighting head before you slip the softbox material over the top of them. It is definitely easier that way. I bought the 2000 watt softbox setup with the 10 x 45 watt lightbulbs. The quality of the light that these bulbs produce is very impressive. There are no strange colour casts, and they do in my mind justify the blurb that states that they produce true and clear lighting for most uses. These lightbulbs are advertised as giving a light that matches a colour rendering index of 90 plus. I am not a pro photographer so have no way of telling if this is true or not, but the light is certainly clear and consistent. The stands are well built for their purpose and are easy to move about. With a bit of care and attention these softboxes should last years. They would not survive the rough and tumble of being chucked in the back of a truck and toted around for location work, but that is not their intended use. These are perfect for my home setup where I have my DSLR mounted on a tripod and shoot 360 degree series of images of subjects sat on a turntable. While my interest is in capturing dastasets to allow me to generate photogrammetry models for mostly archaeological purposes , this lighting setup would work wonders for people looking to sell stuff on Ebay.

Plenty bright enough with just 1 or 2 (of 3) bulbs in each box for close-up lighting (all 3 would have you squinting!) 3 bulbs can provide a decent amount of light from further away. A little fiddly to assemble the first box, but the second was easy after having figured out the first. Lightweight and strong. Stands go plenty high and have a nice spring action when compressing again. Can see it all lasting a long time.
