Lots of variety throughout this work book. Perfect activity while on a long trip

Bought for football mad grandson who also likes maths. He'll love it.

Amazing to keep a football mad kid interested in maths

Unfortunately a great idea - getting children into Maths through Football- but badly executed. First issue is that the information the book is based on is out of date - players and managers who were important when the book was written are not necessarily so now - and the target audience ages 7-9 years are not going to know about previous world cups etc. Second issue is that the problem setting is very wordy and sometimes very confusing. I think any child would get very frustrated with this book and is unlikely to engage with it. I have a friend who is a Primary Maths Education consultant. I showed him the book as I felt very unsure about giving it to my grandson and nephew. He confirmed everything I have said above and agreed it was a missed opportunity, and the educational content is unsound.
