I'm not one to write reviews, but this product deserves 5 stars. I have a 14 year old GSP mix who developed chronic bouts of diarrhea, mucousy stools, increased difficulty with fats, acid reflux and sleepless nights due to the above for the past 1.5 years. Countless vet trips with no proper diagnosis or guidance given other than prilosec (made symptoms worse). Labs were always great, stool samples without any red flags. When I tell you we have tried everything under the sun to improve these issues on our own - (homemade low fat diets, food allergy tests, acid reducers, slippery elm, any and all suggestions from conventional AND holistic sources)- nothing ever provided my dog consistent relief. I stumbled upon this food randomly online, and after reading many positive reviews I ordered immediately. Having trialed so many things in the past, I kept my expectations low. Jake has only been on this food for 1 wk with it being gradually increased. We are at 50/50 homemade and this currently. He has had no ill effects during the transition and the results so far speak for themselves. Acid reflux- gone. Picture perfect stool. Every time. Sleeping through every night without panting, gulping and pacing around. LOVES the food. You might think, a week is not a huge sample size....but Jake has never gone a full week without at least one of the issues I've named above. And if your dog also deals with any of the above, then you know how frustrating this endless cycle can be. For us, a week is HUGE. We are both thrilled and relieved at the results this food has provided so far. If you're on the fence, it's definitely worth a shot.

My 12 year old dog has acute pancreatitis and is post gall bladder removal surgery. He also has severe allergies to chicken, beef, and soy. Needless to say it’s been very hard to find a food that is low enough fat plus doesn’t contain his allergens. After a lot of frustrating attempts to find a food that works, Squarepet whitefish formula has done the job. He actually enjoys eating now, is putting on healthy weight, no pancreatitis flare ups or and vomiting. It’s such a relief to find a food that finally works for him. Highly recommend !

Fast delivery and the dogs like it. So far so good

Be aware that the recommended feeding amount shown dues not match what is on the package. I was feeding my 80 lb dog according to the picture shown here. It said 3 1/2 cups. My dog was so hungry. I read the actual bag i received. It recommended 4 1/2 to 5 cups. Once i feed the correct amount my dog's health improved. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis. He is on the mend thanks to Squarepet.

This food works so well with my dog that has pancreatitis. He loves the flavor! No flare ups with this low-fat food. Best thing….no prescription needed.

Smells as other customers stated. I have it in an airtight container so it’s not that big of a deal to me. Main thing is, my pooch is on a low fat diet due to pancreatic issues and she likes it better than her other prescription dog food so I’m willing to deal with it.

Our dog started liking this food ok, after a few days, she would barely eat and only after hours of not wanting to eat out of necessity. After a couple weeks she outright refused to eat it. I’m sure everyone has different experiences. Our girl is a 50lb pittie with pancreatitis.

There are two dog food brand I feel confident feeing my babies and this is one of them. I have fed other lines of kibble within this brand such as the “Ideal Digestion” food and my dogs love it. I am surprised my dogs both loved the “Low Fat Formula” as much as they did. This food is not only great if you have a small, pancreatitis prone dog- it’s also great for dogs with poultry allergies as my one dog has. Freeze dried raw dog food is too high in protein for a smaller dog and lead to problems with diarrhea, weight gain and gas. This food isn’t overly high in protein or fat which is great. I recommend giving this brand a try.
