Action packed!
Shadow Hunt was an action packed fantasy with plenty of twists and turns in the plot. Scarlett was awesome, as always, and she was pushed to the brink many times but still managed to hold her own. A fun read!

Lots of good hunts
Scarlet is in a hunt, is the subject of a hunt and stops a hunt. Wonderful, engaging story. Excellent read.

Ok but
Scarlett is so stupid sometimes its annoying and acts and sounds like a teenager. She's suppose to be a powerful null but doesn't have any powers or smarts. I will read the last book in the series especially since the book and audio book is free. I think the author has the possibility of improving her writing and characters. We'll see.

Another enjoyable read. Wonderfully talented author.
I've read several of Melisssa's book series and found them all to be entertaining and well thought out. I like how she cameo's her different characters into other series like a tv crossover event. But, done in a natural way. I look forward to her future writings and would highly recommend her books to others.

Olson didn't disappoint!
I have no idea if there is any plan for more Disrupted Magic books but a girl can dream. If there aren't, however, I can still honestly say that Olson did a fine job of tying off a trilogy neatly enough. Olson (and Scarlett) have really grown on me through these books and I don't even "wince" or "flinch" as often at those still frequently used words as I used to because I'm too wrapped up in Scarlett's distinctly "hers" sense of humor and pure ballsiness. Where I recall a critique about her behaving too submissively to be such a supposed bad ass in the very first Scarlett book, that critique is FAR from relevant anymore. Olson did an outstanding job of ending this 3rd Disrupted Magic book with Scarlett having steadily having grown stronger as a person and a null over all of the books. That speaks to me of Olson's writing and exceptional storytelling growing as well. This book leaves me with a feeling that I'd missed for a long time: satisfaction but sadness that I'm done. I really hope this isn't the end of Scarlett's adventures but if it is, at least I was left a happy reader.

Shadow Hunt
Wow, the Wild Hunt! Not just a fairy tale. An amazing book. Action and adventure throughout the book and all the unique good characters. Loved the book. Question-why the pregnancy? Interesting!

Lots of action and had romance
This was a great entry to the series with a great battle scene. Really enjoyed the lore of the Wild Hunt and the site s around LA. The romance in the book was a nice touch and balanced all of the action. Loved the Boundary cross over. I wish we had heard from Will at the end of the book to see how he was doing with what had taken place and his new life. Also I want more of the relationship between Jesse and his brother. His brother doesn't like Scarlett and I think there's more there to explore. I think Jesse maybe should've felt a little guilty or badly that he was lying to his brother especially since he was pressed to forget the incident. His brother probably would have been angry knowing that he was almost killed because Jesse is with Scarlett.

Contains Mild Spoilers
I have been a fan of Melissa's for years and have read every book she has ever written. This fell flat for me and i will tell you why. Jesse. I hate him, like seriously despise him as a character and every time he was mentioned in previous books i groaned and read with reluctance. So imagine my surprise (not really) that the one person i never wanted Scarlett to end up with is Jesse, and yet it happened. I honestly think (sorry melissa) that its lazy. Scarlett belonged with Eli, and if not Eli then someone completely out of Scarletts current circle. I liked Jameson in the previous book, i would of been happy with that but nope had to kill him so her and Jesse could fall together. Sorry not buying it, peed me off.Anyway that said. The story was good apart from that nonsense, the Laparii who train the Bargests have decided to steal Shadow from Scarlett and let her starve to death in a cage. Scarlett gets help with trying to get Shadow back from Jesse, Molly and others, and it turns out the Laparii are arranging to bring back The Wild Hunt, the hunt of the Fae that kill and murder supernaturals and sinners. The Hunt has to be stopped at all costs and it takes help from Lex and Maven amongst others to try and prevent them all getting killed.Overall the story was good, the writing was good, it flowed really well, but i seriously cannot believe she ends up with flippin Jesse.

All kinds of awesome!
I practically inhaled this book, it was so good. I've read every book in this series and it's spin off (Boundary Witch) the moment I could get my hands on them, and coming back to this world and these characters is like time spent with old friends. The world is so well crafted it needs little updating and the rules of the Old World are always adhered to, needing no reminder when picking up each new book. While this book brings about the end of a story arc I feel like the Old World is now on the cusp of an entire new era and I sincerely hope that there are many many more to come. I know Lex/Boundary Witch gets books up next but I really hope that Scarlett gets another series too. The stories could just go on and on as far as I am concerned.I absolutely loved all the places that Melissa Olson took us to in Scarlett's life, where a lot of ends tied up and despite the chaos and usual heartbreak, she manages to find a measure of happiness. Old foes return to LA, bigger and badder than before and Scarlett will need all her abilities and allies to conquer what's coming. She really has become the biggest badass, and what's even better is that the leaders that know her now listen and take note of what she says. She really has become a force to be reckoned with and one bad guys should twice about before crossing ;-)I so loved this, I can't recommend this series and author enough.

I really enjoyed all three!
I have to say I really enjoyed reading these 3 Disrupted Magic books, I just came by the first and second one by chance when a deal to buy came up (the third i jumped at)I couldn't put these books down, the story lines kept me hooked and all were well written, the characters were brilliant. I believe there is a series just before this? But it didn't matter! I have (like many of us) read lots of these urban vampire, werewolves, witches, fae etc stories and have found that some can be so fantastical, so over the top that you sometime just read and finish.... Yes this is about said "Other World or the Old World but how refreshing was it to read that Scarlett wasn't a goddess beauty beyond all plains, she wasn't a skinny min (how i pictured her) she wasn't a star at weaponry, although she could throw a knife and yes she was a powerful Null but it was written and played out well... But more so, she wasn't someone who everybody fancied, loved or wanted to jump in bed with and vise versa for her - that a new one... The Old World were portrayed in a great way too as vamps and werewolves should be, but again written well and the whole thing came together... I loved it!!!! (I will check out the others)

Fabulously exciting and so well told
First of all, I would recommend any fan of urban fantasy to splurge on all of Melissa's books, they are wonderful. This end-of-arc story is written with the pace, imagination and exciting twists and turns that we have come to expect, and leave you loving all of LA's Old World denizens more than ever (even Dashiell, to some degree!). I cannot wait to see what becomes of them all, whatever form they crop up in.So much of the UF we read is somewhat formulaic, but Melissa manages to avoid many of the obvious cliches that crop up, and she brings a fresh feel to the 'lore' of vampires, werewolves and witches.

Great story in the vampire/Old World magic tradition
Scarlett Bernard is a null, any magic she comes into contact with is immediately made invalid. She works for the head Vampire in Los Angeles, Dashiell, mostly in a clear up capacity. Unbelievably she is pregnant, a condition previously thought impossible. Her bargest, Shadow, is stolen, leaving her with little protection, as an extreme threat manifests itself from the European witches, who are intent on possessing Los Angeles for themselves. Their movement is led by Aldric, who now has the Scroll and Sword in his possession. Throw a romance with Jesse Cruz into the mix and you have a truly interesting and inventive story.
