Best light ive bought
Package came very quickly. I needed this for my new planted shrimp tank. Because its planted i went for this to allow my plants to grow and the shrimp to show off there real colours. White light is super effective and shows up the tank really well. Blue light is great for during the evening

Well made light
Gives out good light. Only drawback I’ve found is it seems to increase algae growth.

Not fit for purpose - faulty within 2 years
Started well, looks good, nice and bright. But this is he second unit I have had, the first failed due to not being waterproof. I sealed this one with clear silicone first and it has lasted longer. However it has now started to flash like the video shows. Never really got any plant growth with this light either....

Not as bright as has been made out.
When I unpacked it and tested for the first time, I thought it was extremely bright because I was looking at it in a room, not over the aquarium. I chose this one over other nicrew lights because it was supposed to be HO (high output) and extremely bright for plants. Now it's all cured and attached to the hood, I tested the light over the actual water. Cling film is there to show reflection of LEDs. The first picture is right after switching on, and the thin strip of lights that came with the aquarium is way brighter than the nicrew one. The next picture shows both lights on. The third picture is only the blue lights on the nicrew light (this actually looks more well spread in reality). The fourth picture is just the nicrew light, and shows how much less light it casts. It's okay that it doesn't reach the front, because the light is placed to the back of the hood (my original light couldn't be moved, and is adjustable in direction anyway). The last picture is to compare after they have both been on a few minutes. It seems that the nicrew takes some time to "warm up" and gets a bit brighter, but my original light is still brighter even though it is that intensity from the start. I removed two stars because 1. The light doesn't seem HO at all and definitely not as bright as advertised, which is disappointing because they have marketed it to planted aquariums, and I'm not sure what the PAR is at the bottom of the aquarium. The other star, 2. The box came slightly damaged, not through to the light at least, and there is only 3 green lights. I don't think they will have much effect when the light isn't as bright as it should be for plants. I hope to see improvement in growth, but I will have to wait and see. If nothing else, I can use the two lights' different intensities and the blue light setting to manually create a sundown effect! It also heats up less than my other light (makes sense), which applies to both the plug and the light itself.

Great budget lighting, full spectrum highly recommended for good plant growth.
I have bought 4 of these lights now. 2 full spectrum, 2 classic (blue/white). They are both suberb value for money however I am enjoying the extra growth and colour my plants get from the full spectrum (my Rotala 'H'ra' is looking nice and red) and I will likely buy more of these in the future. In terms of build quality you pay for what you get, they rattle a bit and dont feel the best quality, Im sure the mounting brackets could have been designed better, if you are not careful they can pop out. However I am yet to have any actual faults, LED's are all still working properly, nothing has broken. Overall I would very much recommend these lights. They will grow any aquarium plants I have tried including more "advanced" ones like Micranthemum montecarlo. They offer very bright light and make the aquarium look great, they are the best budget aquarium lighting I have found to date.

Low profile well made units
These lights are perfect, I put 4 on my 8ft tank, it is 30 inches deep and they are all I need. I will never change, £120 to light my expensive set up is amazzzing value!! Just bought 2 for my 5ft tank. Look at those super ugly Kessils that stand above your tank and what they cost, I would take these Nicrews any day of the week and no I am not involved with the company, these are just PERFECT.
