Levi's Men's 514 Straight Fit Jeans

I love these jeans. No one seems to see them as jeans though and they are super comfy. They seem to be a lot softer and made of lighter material than regular blue jeans. I swear you could sleep in them, they are that comfortable. I typically don't like to buy stretch jeans because they seem to wear out faster, but these seem like they may be more durable than usual. Of course, I absolutely LOVE the pockets, but not sure why that would be a feature since Levis haven't changed their pockets since the first design. I've even purchased a blue pair of these 514s. I like the way they sit below the waist.

Pretty nice, I wear these pants most often. Durable enough and comfortable. Accurate fit and sizing, color keeps well over time.

They felt large. I wear size 32x32, ordered 31x32 and still felt a bit larger. Other than that, the fabric is fine and they are comfortable.

Perfect fit, true to size,the quality most have come to expect from Levi,a bit pricey but worth every penny.

I got tired of inhaling and pulling hard in opposite directions. So, I ordered a couple of pair of those $120 stretch jeans that you may have heard about on the radio as being the best jeans ever!! Unfortunately, those were going to take about 10 days to get to me and I needed them 4 days later for a cycling trip. Amazon Prime to the rescue at $40ish with 2-day delivery. Got them as scheduled and tried them on. Felt great and a perfect fit. Wore them the whole cycling trip when not cycling (although these would work perfectly fine for 2-4 hour cycling trips. I need the extra padding of cycling short Chamois when taking longer trips). Got back home and the $120 jeans were waiting. Tried them on and I like these Lee jeans better. Sent the $120 jeans back to their owner. A couple of caveats: 1) These are REALLY stretchy like 2-4" of extra give. If you don't like lots of stretch, these may not be for you; 2) Because they are REALLY stretchy, they do not sit as securely on your hips as "regular" cotton denim jeans and you will need a belt to help keep them riding where they are supposed to ride. Along that vein, these jeans have an extra elastic band along the waist to help minimize this issue. The $120 jeans did NOT have a similar strip and therefore the problem was much more pronounced on the $120 jeans; 3) Frankly, I thought these were better versions of the $120 jeans at a much cheaper price. I took great care in comparing fabric compositions between these and the $120 versions trying to get the same (or as close as I could get) fabric compositions as the expensive jeans but in the Lee brand. I also tried a Lee variant with different fabric construction. I liked those too but these were better. The secret from my perspective is to get a Lee style with 2-3% elastine in the fabric (as compared to spandex). That was the closest match to the expensive jeans. I have completely replaced my cotton denim jean inventory with these jean. So, yeah, I really like them. Way more comfortable and flexible than the traditional all cotton denim jeans.

I bought 3 pairs of 514, all different colors and 2 out of the 3 have a very slim fit, almost like the Levis 511. The 3rd one have a loose fit and slightly baggy and the other 2 fits slim. So the size fitting will vary depending on the color you get. I noticed that the washed/faded colors are the ones that seems to fit slim and the color such as rinsed will fit loose, so keep that in mind when purchasing the Levis 514. Edit: I'm updating the review from 4* to 3*. After wearing the jeans to work for a full day, the leg fitting is very tight, these are supposed to be a straight fit, but it feels more like a slim taper. This review is based on the washed black color jean.

Fit well and very comfortable.

Something extremely odd happened with respect to the pair of jeans I ordered this time. For ages ( I mean... a long long time ) I wear Levi's products size 42W 32L or 44W 32L because they fit me without any need for adjustments. I purchased 3-4 different models ( a 7xx, multiple XX Chino, 501, 514 ). I've never ever had to fiddle with them because they were always my size. Well... this last pair of 514 size 42W 32L ( which is printed on all the labels ! ) was 12 cm too long. I had to take them to a tailor to shorten them. I gave her as reference ( to measure/compare the inseam ) another pair of black Levis, also a 42W 32L. Go figure ;( Otherwise I am happy with the product, even if delivery took 3 weeks more than the estimation that was provided when I placed the order. Providing as evidence photos of the pieces that were cut.

Die Jeans passt wie angegossen, schöner Schnit, nicht so labberich, toller Stoff. Durch das Stretschmaterial läßt sie sich angenehm tragen.
