Bass Bible

I'm an amateur, self-taught player. Not an absolute beginner, but not very skilled either.This book was perfect for me - it covers techniques in a way I could understand easily. And it covers lots of different styles of music - so it's helpful for musicians who only know one kind (e.g., if you are a metal head who wants to broaden your playing).Also, the author does not try to sound cool or condescending. He just covers what you need to know in a way that shows he loves music.Better than the other introductory books I've seen. I'm not a music teacher, but it seems to me this would be a great accompaniment to lessons after someone has been playing for a few weeks.

This is a terrific book for anyone studying Bass Guitar. I am using this in conjunction with another teaching method as this book fills in many blanks with regard to musical styles.This is not a theory book. A bit of theory is covered but that is not the main topic.The most wonderful part of the book are the various styles from around the world with full illustrations that are also on the accompanying CDs.This truly is one book that should be in a beginner or advanced Bass player's library.

This is an amazing book and is filled with different genres, examples of how to play them, techniques; grooves and so on.You will need to know how to read sheet music however.If I had to take only a couple of books with me; without question this would be one of them.

Excellent book! Would have preferred that it was either ring bound or in a binder so that pages could come out more easily for practicing.

There are many books around that may seem like this. This one is better than most of them. Give it a try.

good but too expensive for charges when you live in the caribéan so i will order from france and wait more . i am agree to pay(not a ridiculous price) or to wait but not one month specially when i am just living in GUADELOUPE FRENCH WEST-INDIES

Not my cup of tea

If you're interested in bass, and not a pro yet, this is one of the few worth buying. If you read my other reviews you'll know I don't give out unearned compliments. If the book is a farce I will say so. There is no worthless drivel in this book, but 250 pages of bass lines showing different techniques.

Ich bin zwar hauptsächlich Gitarrist, habe mir aber auch einen Bass zugelegt um ab und an auch mal ein paar Bassgrooves zu spielen.Dank der beigelegten CDs können auch schlechte Notenleser, wie ich einer bin, sehr gut mit dem Buch arbeiten.Tolle Grooves die Spaß machen.Meiner Meinung nach ein Muss für jeden Bassisten.

Been after this book for ages and finally managed to get a used copy at a fantastic price. Gradually working my way through it. Loads of bass lines and ideas in all styles. Probably not a beginners book but is not advertised as that anyway.
