only suitable with use with a 2 amp battery at present without obstucting the dust bag

Yes, 2.5ah battery fits with dust collector. But any bigger and you have to use without dust collector.

It should be OK but time consuming, but good for panelled doors. You may be better investing in a rotary sander and finishing with the Einhell. Don't use a belt sander as this is too aggressive. Another alternative would be to use a mild paint stripper to remove the bulk of the paint, then to finish off with the Einhell whnthe bulk of the paint is off and the door has dried off.
