Still Razor-Sharp โ Truly Impressive Knives!
Iโve had this ZWILLING Twin Signature 3-piece knife set for almost a year now, and I can honestly say itโs one of the best kitchen purchases Iโve made. These knives are not just good when theyโre newโthey stay good. Week after week, month after month, theyโve held their edge far better than any other knife set Iโve owned. Right out of the box, the blades were razor-sharp. I sliced through tomatoes with barely any pressure and chopped onions so smoothly it actually made cooking more enjoyable. What really impressed me, though, is how that sharpness has held up. I cook almost every day, and these knives have been in constant rotation. Even with heavy use, I havenโt needed to sharpen them nearly as often as I expected. When I do hone them, they respond quickly and regain that like-new edge with minimal effort. Functionally, they hit all the marks. The set includes a chefโs knife, a utility knife, and a paring knifeโthree essentials that cover just about every kitchen task. Whether Iโm chopping vegetables, trimming meat, or peeling fruit, thereโs a knife in this set that handles it with ease. The weight is perfectly balanced: heavy enough to feel solid and controlled in your hand, but not so heavy that it tires you out. The handles are comfortable and ergonomic, and I never feel like Iโm fighting the knife to get the job done. You can tell these are quality-made. The blades are precision-stamped from German steel, and the craftsmanship shows. No rust, no chipping, no issues with the handleโeverything still feels tight and durable even after a year of regular washing and use (though I always hand wash them, just to be safe). If youโre looking for a set of high-quality kitchen knives that actually live up to their reputation, this is it. Theyโre sharp, they stay sharp, and theyโre built to last. For the price, the value is outstanding. I wouldnโt hesitate to recommend them to anyoneโfrom beginner home cooks to experienced chefs who just want something reliable and well-made.

Great knives
I love knives because I always use them and as a result lean towards the better made ones. The cheaper stuff rarely lasts and in some cases is dangerous. These came up and I wanted to try them out as the come from a well known manufacturer and are made in Germany. Lets be straight up front, these are fantastic knives. Unless you are into artesian hand made one off specialty items, you will be happy with these knives. They are well made. Durable and extremely well sharpened. Not hair splitting sharp, but close to shaving sharp. Think razor that pulls a few hairs. Under the microscope these have one of the best edges I've seen. The only thing missing was some stropping to make them amazing. The picture shows the set of three along with a Japanese set of three that I have had for years now. The sizes are comparable so it was easy to do a fair comparison. I keep my Japanese set extremely sharp and these Zwilling knives kept up with all cutting and slicing operations I used in the kitchen. They are stainless steel one layer design vs the 63 layer Japanese set. There is little difference in either to be honest as the layered design doesn't make much difference in the sticking of certain foods to the blade. The looks of the blades are very different if that matters to you. I like the layered look but I also like a smooth finish so am happy with both. The handles are different and it will take some time to get used to the new handles. This is not a bad thing, it's just using the same knives for years one grows used to the handle. The pairing knife blade thickness was half the Japanese pairing knife. The other two were about the same thickness. Price wise, the Japanese large knife cost more than the entire Zwilling set of three. So we're comparing these against knives costing three times more which are also hand made. One of the things about Japanese knives, is they really don't make sets of steak knives. After testing these knives, I decided to upgrade our steak knife set to Zwilling of the same style. So I thought enough of these knives to spend over $240 on 8 steak knives. Take that as you will. Five stars for these.

An amazing set of German steel knives. Ignore the sharpener.
These are really impressive German steel knives, known to be the best and strongest steel of which even the finest surgical instruments are made. It is steel made to last, so I have very high hopes that the really will finally be the last knives I ever have to buy. They are nicely weighted in the hand, impressively sharp and the blades are not flimsy. The included sharpener, however, I take issue with. It is along the lines of many of the most common knife sharpeners available if you do a simple search. Unfortunately, these sharpeners do not much to keep the hand steady and moving at the correct angle, no matter what angle the components are at- leaning too heavily to the left of the right will affect your blades. I use this type of sharpener for touch ups on basic knives, kitchen or survival. Theyโre great for initially smoothing out a defect. However, there also no instructions with it as to how much pressure to use, how quickly to move the bladeโฆ this is the most basic type of sharpening tool and meant for people who donโt truly know how to sharpen blades. Using this sharpener on prized knives or blades can potentially do more harm than good. I would suggest you take this level of knife in to be professionally sharpened or do your research and learn the technique and tool that works best for you. Keep the sharpener. It works well enough for your basic kitchen knives or pocket knives and if you learn to use it properly, it is a quick and easy way to sharpen just a bit. If you need more than a touch up. Personally, these knives will never touch this sharpener and the fact that it was included and with no instructions, takes a star away. The fact is that I just got these and the details are very impressive and they are initially very impressive as well. I hope they hold up as promised, but the choice to add a sharpening tool that even with instructions is not the level quality that the knives are said to beโฆ it leaves me waiting to see how they truly wear and I will certainly update if I donโt feel they stand up to the description of how and what they are made of. Best of luck! As of now, the knives, I love.

Excellent and affordable knives for the kitchen
We have been using Zwilling J. A. Henckels knives in our home for decades. The Zwilling line is the higher end of their lineup. This is a very nice introductory set for the home. They will accomplish the majority of tasks that kitchen knives do, and individual specialty knives can be purchased if desired. These are very well made of high quality steel that is durable and will last decades if you take proper care of them and donโt abuse them. The set is at a great price point for high quality knives. They feel good in the hands and are appropriately balanced and weighted. They arrive relatively sharp, but do need to be honed. I am not much of a fan of the included sharpener, as this type of sharpener will never accomplish the edge that I demand of my knives. Being a woodworker with lots of edge tools, I have learned just how important a good clean sharp edge is. These will benefit from honing with a leather strop or sharpening steel. A strop is very inexpensive and easy to use. A steel takes a lot of practice to master. I always marveled at how easy my grandfather made using a steel appear to be. I have never mastered the skill. Ideally, these need to be honed to get a very sharp edge, and then maintained by honing for just a few minutes after every few uses. If you maintain a good sharp edge by frequently honing, they will stay sharp and probably outlive you. Even though they are dishwasher safe, I do not recommend that you do that. They will last far longer and keep a better edge if you gently hand wash them, dry them, and put them away where other utensils wonโt bang into them. I have a magnetic strip screwed to my cabinet right next to where I use the knives, which keeps them protected, readily available for use, and safely away from the reach of my grandchildren. This set is replacing a similar set from the J.A. Henckels line that was purchased about 25 years ago, so I am very sure that these will last every bit as long.

WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!
I have been postponing buying new knives because I really wanted some good quality knives but not the break the bank kind of knives! I have bought knife sets dozens of times, received them as gifts etc. you know the ones that come in their own knife block. My experience is that the block is usually worth more than the knives. I have purchased electric knife sharpeners, stones etc. and yet they never seem to hold an edge for very long. THESE knives however, are very good quality, I was fortunate enough to find them at a reduced price and I am VERY happy with them. They are RAZOR sharp however so be careful! I sliced my finger tip just washing them!!! They are a little bit lighter weight than I would prefer but at 73 my hands arenโt what they use to be so I think overall they are perfect for me. They came well packaged, with extensive care pamphlet. I have been using them daily for about two weeks now and actually enjoying cooking again. Amazing what a good sharp knife can do!

High quality Zwilling knife set with sharpener
I have used these knives for a month or two and can say they really are good. I know my knives and these handle great. They weigh well and feel good in my hands, they arrived sharp but sharpened well. They look nice in my wood block and have the quality Zwilling name and logo. They are not cheap, but with knives you tend to get what you pay for. These are a good value in my mind.

Perfection; at a great price
Was given a one man 12 piece knife block as a Xmas gift, as a widower I had to learn how to cook and Iโm glad to say after many years of watching cooking shows and doing nothing I have become quite proficient. A friend of mine suggested I upgrade the knives I use the most, keep the block and retire the 8โ 6โ and 4โ. Found these beautiful knives at an amazing price before Xmas and there is nothing quite like receiving something that exceeds all your expectations. Large fresh carrots used to be a challenge, hand cut French fries, so easy now, cutting open a bell pepper without disturbing a single seed. The knives make me look like a genius. These knives are a merger of engineering and art. Thank you Zwilling.
