product works great. I did have an issue with the SIM ...
Delivered quick, product works great. I did have an issue with the SIM card where the unit stopped working and replaced it with one with more capacity and that corrected the problem.

Too many reliability issues and firmware/software issues has made this a $150 paperweight
I drive a semi for a living and have a need for a good dash cam. I was really looking for something that would make it easy for me to transfer the recorded videos from the dash cam to my tablet or phone. I bought this camera with the erroneous assumption that the Bluetooth capability would allow me to transfer the data via the Bluetooth connection. It does NOT do that. The only thing the Bluetooth does is allow the unit to receive GPS position data from a phone with their proprietary iRadar software installed. Ultimately, the entire Bluetooth idea was a complete waste to me. Unfortunately, the entire unit has been a waste for a few reasons.Problem 1: the unit frequently freezes when trying to review recordings through built-in LCD. I am using the appropriate type and size of Micro-SDHC card. I researched Cobra's website and noticed that the firmware version my unit came with was obsolete, so I had hoped that updating the firmware on one of my rare visits to my own home would fix the problem. I even contacted tech support to confirm whether my problem was a known issue that perhaps a firmware revision might fix. The tech said it should. What was really happening here was I was getting corrupted recordings. Even when I remove the SDHC and mount it to my tablet and try to view the recordings there, I'm often unable to view many - if not all - of the recordings because of whatever this corruption is that's occuring. My only option, then, is to delete the files from my tablet or format the entire card if still mounted to the dash cam.Problem 2: I finally got home and managed to update the firmware. I was really hoping that would solve the corrupt files/freezing camera problems, but it has ultimately done nothing whatsoever to remedy that. In fact, I've actually had MORE problems since updating the firmware, not less. Now I not only STILL encounter corrupted files, but now I have a few more problems that occur frequently: (1)even when I turn off the G-Shock sensor to prevent it from automatically going into Emergency Record mode, some of the rough Interstate roads I drive on cause the unit to constantly put the unit into Emergency Record mode. I have to battle with the unit attempting to pause the recording AND stop the Emergency Record action usually at least a few times (often while driving) to get it to stop doing that. It finally does stop once I'm able to regain control. But it shouldn't even be going into that mode when the overly sensitive enough G-Shock sensor is turned completely off in the first place; (2)I get the impression the unit overheats to the point the display turns off and/or shuts down automatically, and it doesn't turn itself back on. I can understand if it gets warm from direct sunlight hitting it, but I also keep the A/C running - which should help keep it cool; (3)I've had at least a few situations where the unit just won't seem to turn on even after I've had it unplugged for a while and then I plug it back in.Tech Support: it seems Cobra has only one single individual working in the Tech Support department for this unit. When I called the main Support line, I was given a specfic number to call for Tech Support. If the technician is already on the line helping another customer, your only options are to either leave a message (leaving a message did not result in a call back for me) or to keep calling back until the line isn't busy and the technician actually answers your call.Ultimately, this unit has been nothing but a complete waste of $150. It's now also too late for me to return it to Amazon. I'm considering asking Cobra for an exchange or perhaps a better unit, but now that I know what I know about this unit and the company's seemingly horrendous management of every aspect of this product, I'm seriously doubting that would get me anywhere anyway. I now have so little confidence in Cobra's ability to produce and sell me a reliable and likable enough dash cam that I am all but set on ensuring the next dash cam I buy must not have anything at all to do with Cobra.Aside from the problems, the wide view angle is nice. I rarely ever had problems with the mount falling off the windshield. Yes, it has fallen a few times, but it's more rare than frequent - and rough roads had nothing to do with it either. I will say, however, that the wider view angle relative to its competitors does tend to give it more of a "wall eye" type effect when viewing the recordings. What I mean is that the immediate area around my truck looks great. But there have been a couple of times where I saw "close call" situations several hundred feet ahead of me and this camera failed to clearly show what I was able to see with my naked eyes. It's really basic physics here though. It's just not possible to get a good longer-distance perspective from a camera when it is designed to give such a wide view. I don't know if the design idea here was to care only about the immediate vicinity of the owner's vehicle (near-sighting) or if the lack of distant-view capability is just a by-product of the company's attempt to produce a camera with a wider view angle than anybody else seems to offer. Lastly, the video quality during day or night is otherwise reasonable, though I have no experience with other dash cams which I can really compare it to.

Great quality recording day & night.
Nice and clear wide angle view. Though everything seems a lot farther than it actually is, you can still make out some license plates. Wish the dashcam itself recorded the speed driven. No need to keep track of speed on the app and use phone battery... that's what the speedometer on the dashboard is for. All in all, nice camera, even night time videos are clear compared to other dashcams I've tried.

Kudos to Cobra!!
I'm not usually so quick to write a review. I typically like to give an item a few days/weeks before deciding whether it was worth my money. I just received my CDR855BT yesterday. So, why am I writing a review today? Here's why.It seems companies simply throw their products together any more, giving little thought to how the customer will interact with them. Not so with this dash cam. Cobra has done an outrageously great job of making this unit intuitive to operate and use. And, beyond that, as I went to their website to register the product, determine if there was a firmware update and download a manual, everything I wanted to find was easily and intuitively laid out to accomplish what I went to do. This is so uncommon with most companies. This is the first day I've used the cam, and it works exactly as I expect it to, based on the information given by Cobra. It might roll over and die tomorrow, but this has been a pleasant experience so far. Plus, I'm betting that if it does die, Cobra will continue their attention to detail as they have, thus far, demonstrated.Kudos to Cobra!!UPDATE 2/28/2016I returned the Cobra unit. Here's why. My criteria was to have a dashcam that would record GPS coordinates with the video. This unit will do this, but you must be actively using the iRadar app on your smartphone. I do not want that distraction. I uninstalled the Waze app from my phone for this reason, and I certainly don't want to be active in the iRadar community. I want to get in the car, start it and take off with the dashcam recording video and GPS coordinates. I found with the Cobra unit, every time I got in the car, I had to pull out my phone and open the iRadar app so it could connect with the camera. About every 3-4 times, it would not make a connection and I would have to re-boot my iPhone. All this going on, when all I really wanted to do was leave for work, etc. This doesn't retract what I said earlier about the unit. If you want to be actively involved in the iRadar community, then this would be a wonderful dashcam.

Not worth the money
The set up was very easy but on the trial run (road trip) the screen would not come on upon application of power. I left it plugged in to see if it was recording at all and would check the card on the PC later. After our trip I checked the card and it had recorded some clips but about 40% of them are corrupted and can't view. The video that the camera did capture was of great quality and love the wide angle. The suction cup is worthless in my opinion. I made sure that the windshield was clean with rubbing alcohol and the cup still would not stay put. I even tried a bit of water on the cup and it still falls of the window. This will be sent back and I will buy a different brand of camera.

Features description misleading
I got my Cobra today. Great picture, controls are simple to use. But, maybe it's because I am not as knowledgeable as needed to buy the right camera, the description does not seem clear to me that it has no GPS. It will Bluetooth to a phone with GPS, and store GPS info from the phone, but, it does not have it built in. I don't want to worry about it being paired to have the info I want to record. I will be returning this one.
