12 Inch Folding Shelf Brackets, 2 Pack Stainless Steel Heavy Duty L Bracket

I first anchored 2"x4" vertical boards into the studs of my room using counter-sunk pan head screws and then I mounted these brackets to those boards, again using my own pan-head screws. The result is strong, and I'm happy that I bought these, despite that they cost more than simpler brackets. The metal is thick enough and the hinges are strong when extended, so I think they justify the 300lb rating. My guess is that many vendors don't sell 24" brackets because they can be loaded up to provide leverage enough to pull out of most plaster walls since the provided mounting hardware is light/medium duty, not similar to what I use to make wood-to-wood secure installation (anchor screws with deep threads). I like that they fold so when my wife wants to use the project room I can stash the shelf and fold away the brackets, and reuse the shelf anytime easily by just folding up. Worth the price, and strong enough to do the job -- if properly installed/anchored into studs. Glad I bought them.

These are wonderful, strong, stable, sturdy drop leaf braces/supports. I have used a number of different sizes, they have been consistently good quality. Some applications have been used where near maximum loading is common, these brackets have been, without exception, excellent in this heavy duty use. I highly recommend these brackets.

Great for a light duty leaf on the side of a work cart. They are good quality and deploy/retract smoothly/consistently.

I used these to build a collapsible table/top at our small laundry room. According to my husband it was easy to install and functionality is as expected . I myself is very pleased with this purchase for it allowed a small but highly functional work space in our small laundry area where i can fold items, neatly tuck in our laundry baskets and temporarily put items on it. I just collapse it once done where it opens up some space when doing laundry or just passing through to get to areas in this room (this small room has our washer/dryer, a huge freezer and storage spaces for our cleaning stuff, laundry stuff, paper and toilet papers, hangers, etc)

I bought and installed these about a year and a half ago for an outdoor application. I mounted to one side of my garage wall adjacent to my garage door as a shelf for tools at the side of my driveway when working out there. They installed fine, worked very well. They still work well. The problem is ALL pivot points are steel rivets, not stainless steel. They've rusted and now bind. The rest of the bracket components are in fact SS and have held up well. Who in their right mind would design a stainless steel item like this, then use plain steel rivets to work all the pivot points on each bracket? I will disassemble the thing, grind the heads off the rivets and install some good marine grade SS bolts through each pivot point, and it should then continue to work fine.
