Plant based and this is great ingredient for flavoring all kinds of dishes. Use it often would recommend and like larger bottle

Yeah, I know, this stuff is intended as a seasoning for cooking, and I've never used it in my cooking.Some seeds require a smoke treatment to enable germination and the little smoke papers are kind of expensive. I first tried this stuff several years ago when trying various treatments on seeds I was having a difficult time breaking their dormancy. It worked on a few and between me, and liquid smoke, and Norman Deno I think I've licked all of them.So, I left the opened bottle behind when I moved to Vietnam and bought a fresh bottle to be shipped to me here. NOTE: I'm an extreme case perhaps since my bottle took a few plane flights to get to me but it arrived with a tight cap, and tape wrapped around the cap, and it leaked just a bit onto a jigsaw puzzle. Believe me, this stuff has an INTENSE smell.

Starting a plant based whole foods diet I still wanted that smokey grilled flavor to some foods and was told Colgin was the best brand for the money. I'm happy to say I think they were right! I have used this to flavor beans, soy curls, tofu, etc. and have been thrilled with the results. This really fills the bill when you have a taste for that "grilled" flavor. Really makes a difference when added to black bean or any veggie type burger!

I like the hickory smoke for my chicken when I cook in the oven. I season the chicken, then shake some on. Yum!

This stuff is absolutely delicious! We are talking REAL GENUINE hickory smoke flavor! My wife marinates our salmon, hamburger, steaks, etc. with it before broiling and you would think it came right off the grill! She normally uses it with Montreal Steak Seasoning and Worcestershire sauce to get the full effect. She leaves the salmon in the broiler until it fills the kitchen with smoke to get a blackened flavor that guests unanimously rave about!!! I can't recommend this stuff highly enough. We go through ALOT of this stuff, si Icouldn't believe we can get it in a 16 oz bottle vs the 3 oz bottle we thought we were limited to up till now. BUY IT!

Can’t beat the taste of this on a steak with Uncle Chris’ Steak Seasoning from Fiesta!!! Try ii, you will thank me later! Great bulk price and Walmart quit carrying this brand. Bon Appetite!

As a vegetarian there are times when you want that smoke flavor. You can't add meat so you add this instead and all the home cooked taste comes back to your beans, greens, okra or whatever homecooked dish your vegetarian heart wants to recreate. I use his whenever I need it. Liquid smoke and a little oil.
