I have been growing avocado’s from pits for about a year now.I have tried several different methods & have found these boats to be the ABSOLUTE best!Sure you can insert sticks, damaging the pit or potentially causing it to break in half. Or even try without using anything & just placing the pit in a cup.Overall the strongest method I have seen over the last year has been from using these boats.I have had the thickest & stronger roots, forming strong stems from using these boats & I even have 2 plants now growing in dirt. 🥑 I use 6 boats all growing together in a square plastic container (bought from a large bullseye retail store for about $5).I switch the water out about every 2 weeks by simply having another bucket with water ready and moving the growing pits & boats over directly. Helps to avoid breaking any roots when moving. I can’t rave enough about how much I LOVE these boats. I just bought another 2 boxes for more pits.You can see in pictures side by side roots from a pit with sticks versus another from the boat. The stick pit is about 3-4 weeks older also. The boat pit has longer, thicker, stronger & many more roots.Also fantastic for stronger stems when grafting.Without any doubt these boats are a fool-proof method of growing an avocado plant from a pit. With proper care when starting & ensuring you have growth in your pit when you begin using these! THESE ARE THE BEST WAY TO GO!!Happy growing & best of luck!
