Mock California Supplemental Exam (CSE of Architect Registration Exam): CSE Overview, Exam Prep Tips, General Section and Project Scenario Section, Questions, Solutions and Explanations

OK, here is my review. I have used Gang Chen for all my ARE exam's. He has a tendency to use the older 3.1 questions rewritten. I had the 3.1 ARE questions and started noticing a lot of the same questions being used in a number of exam books. As for the California Mock exam, the first 34 pages is nothing but the first 34 pages of the all the ARE exams. WHY? I know this book is for the older exam but I took a chance that the questions are still relevant. So far it seems OK. I would use this book as a supplement to other materials.

California Architect Board had new CSE reference on March 1 2017. This book is an old version.

This was a great Study tool, especially since I passed CDS the test of the ARE and now I'm can officially call myself an Architect.

Questions are helpful but the book is full of misspelled words which makes me doubt the validity of the answers.

This book does have a good practice exam in it which is different than the other available materials. It is a shame the writer was not more generous with questions considering the price of the book. Other information in the book is mostly a copy of what the state of California provides when one pays to sit the exam.

I had a copy setting on my desk for a while, finally I was able to read it during the Holiday season and it is a great tool to pass the test.I highly recommend Mr. Chen books to pass ARE test and also as a tool to learn about code and the construction business.

Some good information but it is very apparent that it has not been updated in years. I was very frustrated to find so much of the information is out of date and/or not relevant.

The sample project was a residential one. The first question was about architectural style, hardly a CSE question, Generally I found the book wanting.
