Buy them. You won't be sorry.
I bought these for my son's 11th birthday- he has worn heelies in the past and both his younger siblings have heelies- his feet are almost adult size (7 in men's) and I was concerned about whether or not they would carry his weight appropriately, but there was no cause for concern. We love them! They glide faster than heelies, seem to be easier to control both in being able to pivot the foot and ankle (heelies have a fixed wheel) and brake easier, and super easy to put on and off once you figure them out. The ability to leave them in the car at the grocery store but slip them on for a stroll down the street is a huge plus too. They are absolutely more lightweight and simple to pick up while wearing, but I'd say make sure if you (or your child) are wearing these for the first time and have never worn something like heelies to wear ample protection on the elbows and knees because they are NOT like roller skates or blades. For the price, I think they are a great value and investment in exercise and time!

This was a great purchase!
The media could not be loaded. A great Christmas gift for my 10y old daughter. We took it out for a test ride and within 1hr she was able to do it on her own. Very smooth we didnt put the spark things on yet maybe in the future. When the weather warms up she'll practice more and maybe start doing tricks. You need a helmet and knee and arm/elbow pads to be safe. Also dont try to learn on a bumpy unsmooth surface. We go to our local skate park and even though its crowded my daughter finds a spot to practice.

If your kid outgrew his Healys, this is the perfect replacement that will grow with him/her - I'm a 200 lb adult and they even worked for me! An added bonus is when you kick the heal down to stop that sparks fly - however the flints wear out very quickly and keep falling off, although I believe that you can purchase replacements.Compared to Healys, the technique is slightly different, but if they have used Healys before they will pick it up in no time. The only downside is that because there are two wheels in parallel, you can't spin on a dime quite as easily as with Healys so they aren't quite as versatile, but still a lot of fun and your kids can use them on their favorite shoes! Also, much cheaper than Healys.Overall a solid, well-made and fun product that your kids will keep on using.

fun for kids........and maybe I even tried.
we bought this as a gift for my son, and he didn't really get a chance to use them outside yet. He used them in the house, and had a good time riding around, but definitely not something you can just pop on and go. you do need some practice, so you can get used to the feeling of these. It isn't like riding on a skate, since you are actually just riding on your heel. Naturally, I put them on, and had to try. They don't work with someone with larger shoes, but I managed to get them on to test, and they supported me at 180 pounds. so as long as they hold up, my son will be able to get a long time of using them .

Works as expected. Bought it for my 8 y/o, but could wear it myself. The learning curve is longer than I thought it would be - closer to real rollers, take a few days (rather than a few minutes) to get used to.But on the positive side - it's surprisingly sturdy, I was pretty skeptical that it would hold in place with just one simple strap going over the foot, but nope - holds real tight and definitely delivers on the promise of "growing with the kid" - no matter what shoes he/she wears.

Not easy to learn. Good quality. But safety gear also.
I bought these for my 8 year old boy that is normally very active and coordinated. He plays soccer and basketball. He is athletic. He also skates a lot on regular skates and in-line skates. He had a very hard time with these. I don’t know why. He was very discouraged as he really wanted to go go go. It took a lot of practice and falls.Definitely buy a helmet and body armour guards for your kid if you get these.

I am an adult and I love these.
I weigh 120 lbs, 62" in height, and wear a size 7.5 to 8 in women's and these were able to fit on the heel of my bulky Nike high tops. I /love/ them. They were easy to get the hang of, never owning "heelies" before, and help you work on your coordination skills. It really works muscles near the knee, your quads, and your glutes and can turn an ordinary walk fun and help you go even further distances. Beware of sticks and ensure you know how to stop quickly before tackling downhills. The color is more hot pink than purple.

Worst gift ever...
My daughter and I researched these for so long before we committed to them. We thought for sure we were making a good decision. If we could give them ZERO stars we would. I do not normally rate items but my 11 year old insisted that I rate these and warn people to not buy them. My daughter is athletic and flexible. She loves to ice skate, roller blade and roller skate. She COULD NOT stay on her feet with these things! She fell numerous times and after her self confidence took a beating along with her wrists, bum and back, she decided that these were by far the worst gift she's ever received. Be warned that these are not safe and fun like the video shows. They're "death traps" in the words of my daughter.
