I would keep my 8060 cause I love that shaver
I have never bought traditional razor and shaving cream in my life. I started with the Norelco 5605X in the late 90s and I got 10 years out of it. I then upgraded to the Norelco 8060X which gave me 10 years of service without even changing the cutting blades. My 8060 just broke (the center plastic gear stripped all it's teeth off, which to fix you have to buy the entire shaving head for $175.) It was 10 years old, I definitely got my money's worth out of it. If I could find the repair parts for a reasonable cost, I would keep my 8060 cause I love that shaver.I bought this 9400X and have used it once. I am impressed with how ergonomic it feels in your hand, I can see there have been major improvements in the pivoting action of not only the cutting blades, but the entire cutting head too. (One thing I never really did like about my 8060 was how many passes it took to get every hair when shaving, but having 10 years on the same cutting blades may have had something to do with that.) This 9400 got every single hair on the first or second pass. It was the fastest electric shave I've ever experienced, and I had a good 3 day growth going. Another thing I really like about this 9400 is how QUIET it is!! Super, super quiet compared to my 8060.I like that the cut hair is contained within the shaving head (unlike my 8060 which would spit the clippings right out the back side of the cutting head). The way the face of the cutting head pops off for cleaning feels good and solid, and the way the cutting blades are retained inside the face of the cutting head feels solid too. There are two rows of cutting "teeth" on the cutting blades - as opposed to only one row on every other electric shaver I've seen.I do like the traditional clipper attachment. It too feels nice and sturdy, and gives good control in your hand. As always, the way the cutting head and the clipper attachment pop off / pop on to the motor assembly feels nice and sturdy. The only thing Norelco cheaped out on was the included carry case - the zipper on it is extremely flimsy and feels like it will break the 3rd time I use it.I have always liked a dry shave; usually I will come home from work (2nd or 3rd shift) and go to bed, wake up the next day, start my daily activities, [dry] shave, shower, then back to work. Sometimes I'll go 2 or 3 days without shaving and I've never had an issue with an electric razor having difficulty giving a nice, close shave. (Nothing will be closer than a traditional razor on bare skin.)Overall - I'm very happy with my initial assessment of this unit. Like I said, I've only used it once and I know time will tell; but I really like it so far.

Shaves pretty well
This is my first electric shaver ever... Well, I have very thick facial hair that are hard to shave. This shaver shaves very well but it is a totally different shave than the ones we get with blades. I'm pretty much enjoying it because it doesn't hurt at all and it seems that it helps maintain my sking in a good help due to less damage as the traditional razors...

... years ago hoping to replace a much older but excellent Norelco 8894XL shaver
I purchased this product about 2 years ago hoping to replace a much older but excellent Norelco 8894XL shaver. There is no comparison between the older and newer models. Norelco should be ashamed to put their name on this product as it is very cheaply made and it is almost non-functional when compared to their older model. As time goes on, technology should advance and products should get better and not just more cheaply made and more profitable for the company that makes them. This model is just plain old expensive, disposable rubbish. It doesn't hold a proper charge, it is extremely rough on your face, and it takes FOREVER to get a good clean shave. Every 2 months you will have to replace the expensive cutting heads as they become dull. I tried to like this product but after using it for about 6 months I switched back to using my 15 year model. Every once and a while I'll pull it out of the drawer and give it another try but back in the drawer it goes, reminding me that I should have sent it back when I had the chance.I am now shopping for another expensive shaver and guess what? It sure won't be a Norelco!

Try it - You'll Like it !!!
Arrived as promised; works better than I imagined, being a Norelco user for the past 40 + years I thought the "Improvements" were advertising but, boy was I surprised how quiet it runs, how smooth it shaves, and how long the charge lasts - This particular model is the best ever!Received it brand new in original sealed box - does not appear to be a customer returned item

The product is very good. But it would have been better if it was as easy to charge and mount as the existing product.

excellent razer
Easy to clean and works great! It was a replacement for an older Philips that I dropped on the marble floor about 6 times till it finally broke. I was nervous about the changes as I loved the old one, but this one is even better, and way easier to clean and take care of.

Junk.
This razor is a complete waste of money. I have used Norelco razors for more than 30 years. Norelco has apparently decided that their razors are disposable. When my old razor died after 10+ years, I bought another mid-range Norelco at a local department store. It did a very poor job, so I bought this razor assuming that the "high-end" Norelco would be better. I was wrong. It cut well for about six weeks before the blades were dull and ineffective. Don't waste your money.
