Solid. So Pretty. Has some weight. Just the right size for dainty jewelry. Seems like it will last for years. Looks just like the pictures. Impressed with the engraving, impressed with everything.. There were some fingerprints on wood at first inspection out of the box- but wiped right off w soft dry cloth. All else -immaculate. Giving as a gift. Theres nothing not to love about this lovely lovely jewelry case. Wood is not a gaudy red cherry..its a warm beautiful tone with a neutral warm deep beigy gold lining. Comes packaged in a semi-shiny light blue thick cardboard box -- very acceptable 4 gift giving. Value, functionality, quality & aesthetics : all 5 stars
