Ginger Rogers also stars alongside Douglas Fairbanks Jr. in this screen adaptation of the Broadway play about young Romeos and Juliets who escape the grit and grind of Depression-era New York City for the canoeing and canoodling of Camp Kare-Free. The stars shine brightly at the resort: Lucille Ball, Eve Arden, Grady Sutton and Jack Carson among them. And Red Skelton makes his film debut, dunking donuts and pratfalling down stairs as the camp social director.

Once again I like Douglas Fairbanks Jr
Once again I like Douglas Fairbanks Jr. movies most of what I have seen. This movie was delivered exactly as predicted even though I live in Canada. The packaging was excellent. The movie was in good condition even better than Love is a Racket. I am so glad that Amazon is able to come up with these great movies. I am hoping that some of Douglas Fairbanks Jr. earlier movies such as I like your Nerve will be available which I would buy immediately. Ginger Roger and Lucille Ball was also very good. Douglas Fairbanks Jr. looks is different in just about every movie I have seen. Sometimes he has a lot of hair with a mustache or hair is slicked back with no mustache and either bushy eyebrows or very little eyebrows which makes him very interesting. His acting is also very exciting and different. I recommend this movie because it is a light hearted romantic comedy making it a relaxing and entertaining movie.

I felt that it wasn't the greatest movie. It is worth seeing at least once ...
I'm a big fan of Ginger Rogers, and thought that she did well in this, however, I felt that it wasn't the greatest movie. It is worth seeing at least once for Ginger Rogers.

Pitching a tent and pitching woo with Ginger Rogers at Camp Kare-Free!
I love some good old comedies and this one is my very-very favorite, the story-line : it's '30s, Depression-era and some of young people escape from city to catch fresh air at Camp Kare-Free. What a lovely cast in this hilarious comedy : Ginger Rogers, Douglas Fairbanks Jr, Lucille Ball, Lee Bowman and Jack Carson as an extra. Richard (Red) Skelton makes his film debut as the camp social director, I enjoyed his performances a lot. And I just love that silly conversation between Miriam ( Lucille Ball ) and Chick ( Douglas Fairbanks Jr. ) about Teddy ( Ginger Rogers ) and Buzzy ( Lee Bowman ) on a night of Japanese Fiesta.Miriam : "Oh yeah ... you don't know Buzzy."Chick : "But I know Teddy."Miriam : "But you don't know Buzzy ... he hypnotizes you."

For the love of Movie Stars!
Wonderful obscure little screwball comedy with many favorites. Lovable Douglas Fairbanks Jr so cute. Ginger Rogers who could do anything Lucille Ball is strange in this character. Pretty annoying really not likeable. Eve Arden is doing something that she never did or has since. Anyway it's lots of fun. I've watched it many times and never tire of it.

Very Limp
Though I am a great fan of Ginger Rogers, this is a very limp comedy which no amount of suspension of disbelief can salvage. It sets up a kind of sitcom without any explanation of how the participants got to be where they are, and fails to provide any reason for us to like the characters. It then ends abruptly and unconvincingly.Heartbeat (though the film quality is terrible) and Lucky Partners are much more engaging, with characters whom you can root for.

Ginger was her usual shining self.
I am not too sure about this film, Ginger Rogers was the best thing in it, apart from Lucille Ball's brief appearance as her usual wisecracking self. Douglas Fairbanks wasn't a good enough actor to give his part any believabilty. He didn't strike me as the redcoat kind of fellow in a holiday camp in the woods. And the romance is so so. Maybe I should watch it again to see if my first impression was right.
