I will continue to buy Pinky Filters. Stuff is great, you can cut it to fit whatever shape or size you need. I use them in HOBs, and canister filters. They will be great in sumps, too. I find them much easier to clean up than filter floss material. I just keep a couple of pieces around pre-cut to size and it makes filter maintenance easy.

Buying this was something of a leap of faith, but for ten bucks it seemed like it was worth it. I have used Marineland filters, which work extremely well and I can recommend them. But, they seem to clog quickly (which I assume means they are working) and have to be replaced. This gets a bit pricey.SO, I took an old filter, ripped the filter off the plastic backing with pliers, washed out the old charcoal particles, and used the plastic backing as a stensil. I used kitchen shears to cut the Pinky filters to size using the plastic template. I got a perfect size fit, no waste.Putting the now clean plastic backing back into the pump filter slots, I just slid a cut Pinky filter into place in front of it. No rubber bands, no fuss, the water holds it in place and the sides also just hold it snug.These filter great. I had no leaching of colour or anything, they just filter the water and I can change them as often as I think necessary for literally pennies. If you don;t mind spending some time trimming the wide sheet of filter material, or if you have kids you can get to do the cutting, this is a terrific solution for fish tank filtering.Six stars.

The sellers trying to pawn off their lower quality pink filters are shysters, watch out on especially ebay, they call their product "Pinky" filters but do not post pictures of their second class filter product showing the Pinky bags or trademark pink octopus. Their filter material is only a little cheaper but their pink layer of filter is thinner and the white filter floss is not near as dense as genuine Pinky.

I always thought that the water in my tank was pretty clear. After installing this filter floss in my HOB filter, I was pleasantly surprised at how clearer the water is now...I have a planted 55-gallon with about 55 community tropical fish in it and good filtration is important. The filter pad is easy to cut to fit my HOB filter AND I do rinse out the pads, in the tank water, during my weekly water changes so I typically can use the filters up to 3 or 4 times before I need to change them. Currently, I am using 2-layers of this filter floss for even better results. If clear water is important to you, get this stuff.

OK, it's basic everyday filter floss and it does its job just fine. It's basically a one time use filter media because if you try to clean and reuse it, more than likely you're going to probably just ruin it. It's cheap enough, so just cut off another new chunk to size and put it in your filter!!!!!

product is great but shipped just as you see it with the shipping label on it. I had to drive up and down the block to find it because it blew away. Its light as a feather so if there's any wind its gone. I give the product 5 stars and the shipping ZERO stars so I gave it 3. If you won't be home when it arrives I suggest shipping it to a friend's or relatives house who will because you might not find it when it blows away.

I like the fact that I can cut to shape and that there is two filtering surfaces for finer particles. What I don't like is the fact that they don't hold the shape if you're going to clean and reuse. I'm using them in my underwater pond filtering system and they're doing a great job but, have to double up to keep thickness or I'll be cleaning them every other day.
