Going with 5 stars because the machine works great and so many reviews focus on how terrible it is to assemble. I have seen where it receives a bad review based on the assembly instructions and not the product. The instructions are not the best but manageable. If you are the kind of person who does not like to read to understand then assembly may be difficult. However if you are minimally handy you can have it together in less than 2 hours. I took 1 hour and 45 min to open box, assemble and clean up the packaging. Now I'm sure i could do it in an hour. I like the gauge to measure stretch and I find it overall fairly comfortable. I have a 32" inseam and I find the leg platform a little short. It is rated for 250lbs I am over that and it is still very sturdy.

I purchased this item for my daughter. She recently earned her first dan in Taekwndo and she felt like flexibility was her biggest athletic limitation. After just a few days of use we've already seen some modest improvements in her flexibility and look forward to what continued use will help her achieve. Pros: Effective, ease of use, durability of design, affordability, thigh-pad adaptability for people of all sizes; Cons: Size/storage (the unit requires some floorspace and doesn't exactly store neatly), assembly (instructions were a challenge of flipping between diagrams and parts lists on separate pages, but overall do-able) Note: the initial package arrived with a hardware pack which was lacking a bushing. Actually it had all four bushings (2 for each leg) but it contained 3 top bushings and just 1 bottom bushing. I found a contact number on the Century Martial Arts website and received very prompt and courteous response. A few days later the package arrived and assembly was completed. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and would make it again.

Solid 3.5 Stars I did some homework on purchasing a leg stretcher before deciding on Century's product. I'm very familiar with the Century brand. They've been around forever, providing a variety of equipment for the martial arts world. That was also one of my reasons for going with this brand. Let's get this out of the way, and I think everyone can agree: The assembly instructions are HORRIBLE. A team of NASA scientist would have trouble with them. Fortunately, someone created a pretty good video on YouTube - for what is most-likely version 1.0 of this product. Version 2.0, this product does come with a few additional pieces. It's a solid product. The seats and padding could be a bit more comfortable. The stretcher works well and I'm definitely feeling it. My box arrived things shifted around a bit and one of the foam grips were damaged. I will say Century's customer support is great. They get back to you quickly and were also able to ship me a replacement grip within a couple of days. Aside from better assembly instructions, the one thing I'd really like to see and wish this product had this feature, is a way for the seat back to fold as well as the rear legs - just for easier storage when not in use.
