Cheers to Amazon for producing such a high-quality product!
Tovess 12 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Amazon and I must say, it's worth every penny. The quality of the whiskey is exceptional, with a smooth and rich taste that lingers on the palate. As someone who loves smoky whiskey, I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of flavour and complexity of Tovess 12 Year Old. The peat smoke is subtle yet noticeable, providing a unique smoky note that adds to the overall character of the whiskey. After trying it my household has decided to make it a monthly subscription. It's become a favourite of ours and we love having it on hand for special occasions or for a relaxing night in. Overall, I highly recommend this whiskey to anyone who appreciates a good smoky single malt scotch. Cheers to Amazon for producing such a high-quality product!

Not for fake whisky drinkers
Firstly anyone who has scored this whisky 1 star should stick to drinking flavoured vodka. I must say the first drink was a little too much, what i mean is the flavour was wild and not the usual highland whisky expectation but after that the first drink the flavour settles and is fine to enjoy. I personally recommend you use water as mixer to enhance the flavour and to take the edge off.

Not half bad!
I’ve just tried this whisky and I’m very pleasantly surprised. Full disclosure, I bought this when heavily discounted just to try it, and actually I’d definitely buy again. I’m not an expert but I do drink many different varieties of single malt whisky and bourbon. Yes, it’s young and a little harsh when drunk neat, but it has a nice sweet, smoky and peaty flavour without being overpowering or overly medicinal. I can only think the bad reviews are from those not used to Islay whisky because I enjoyed it. I can’t quite justify 5 stars but for the value for money when on offer a solid 4.

Excellent value.
A tasty malt. I wouldn't put it in my top 10, but it is a very good price for what you get. It's a typical Islay malt. A strong smoky taste, combined with caramel and a definite sweetness. But mainly it's smoky. Very smoky. If you like smoky, you'll love this. As I say, not a top top malt, but I will at some point, so long as it stays at this price, happily buy again. I hope you found this review helpful.

Happily suprised
A lot of reviews of whisky especially if smoky or peated are hit and miss especially if you are delving in for your first time. It has a love or hate it relationship a bit like marmite. If you like smoke with peat you can expect some but its not an overpowering flavour or TCP type flavour although it does linger. It certainly has a burning sensation easily taken back with a drop of water or ice if you so wish. I don't have a fine palette to discern other flavours but what I can say is. It's enjoyable, it has been a surprise to find another one to add to my list and at the price certainly is good value.

Good value, but a little sweet.
First of all the price, great value for a 12 yo single malt. Good points are it's smooth and doesn't burn like a lot of lower aged malts. Bad point was it's syrupy sweet. Not up to say a liqueur, but it just ruined the overall taste for me. At the price you can certainly chance it and it is drinkable.

My review refers to the "Tovess 12 year old Speyside Single Malt"
I have to disagree with many reviews which decry this whisky. I have now been drinking whisky for over 60 years and whilst I do always prefer the "top-shelf" - funds permitting - I have wandered my way through many lower shelf whiskies and many, many Scotches hanging from the optics in public bars in my time. To me, one of the most important factors to be taken into account, whether comparing Whisky, any other drink, and also food, is *PRICE*! Do not ever expect the same quality if you are paying way below the highest rates for most things, unless you happen to hit on very lucky. Again, to me, many reviewers are simply commenting on their personal tastes and preferences without *ever* taking into account the price they have paid for the goods. I am so pleased with my bottle of Speyside for the price that I paid that I will unhesitatingly be moving onto the other offerings such as the Islay and the Highland etc. To quote my old granda' - "Ye get wot ye pay for in life!"

Fantastic value especially when on sale
Great whiskey, bought as a shelf filler and for use in cocktails rather than enjoyed neat. Some rough flavours initially, but got better as the bottle was open longer. Alcohol on the nose can also be a bit rough, but again better towards the end. That being said, a solid whiskey for a superb price, would recommend.
