Designed with runners In mind, All of the elements in these fresh foam running shoes are made to work together to provide the best ride possible. From the outsole to the midsole to the heel, each component in this shoe creates consistent support.

Love these with a passion
I'm an advanced runner, former collegiate track/cross country runner, averaging between 50-60 miles/week, and race 5k up to ultramarathons. I say this just to try to enforce that I like to think I know my running shoes. And I know this review is just my opinion, and that there is a perfect running shoe out there for everyone - this might not be yours, but holy cow, they are mine! I've been wearing Brooks Ghost and Launch for years, then started wearing Hoka Cliftons for long runs and recovery runs when I'm doing more ultra-focused training. I tend to find a shoe that works, then wear it religiously until they change it so much that I need to try something new, or if I get injured and that shoe feels like it has bad juju (slightly superstitious). I was overdue for new shoes, and went to buy the Cliftons but something prompted me to do some research and open my horizons. So I started looking around and came across the New Balance Vongo. I've been wearing neutral shoes for years, so was really hesitant to buy a stability shoe, but read that these are kind of on the neutral-end of stability, if there's such a thing.Anyway, with the <$100 price, I gave it a go because why not. It's now been about 2 months that I've been wearing them for just about every single run, and oh my gosh, I feel like I've hit the mother load. I recently ordered a second pair to have on standby for when my current pair is worn down, and am tempted to stock up on like 100 more pairs just so I know I'll have them for the rest of my life. The sock/knit liner is snug and keeps my foot in place, so I have no rubbing or hot spots. They are SO comfortable, they're like an extension of my foot. The foam is responsive and light so they work just as well for tempo's or interval workouts as they do for long runs. The grip is great and I actually prefer using these for trail runs over my specialty Salomon trail shoes. The only downside of these shoes (literally the ONLY downside) is that rocks seem to get stuck in the tread more often than any of my other running shoes.TLDR: These shoes rock.

Comfortable shoe but, beware the heel runs wide
I love the style of this sneaker. It has a nice comfortable fit with a breathable mesh outer, a wider toe area, and a knit collar around the ankle. If the heel wasn't so wide I would have given it a 5 but, my heel keeps slipping in and out. I can only use it for everyday walking as I wouldn't trust my foot staying in the shoe for running or jogging.

Gave me a blister. Changed socks and now love them.
Updated review. I tried the shoes again a couple of weeks later this time with thicker socks and it made all the difference. I now love these shoes. Just hiked the ‘Y’ in them in Provo UT. — have multiple pair of NB Fresh Foam shoes. This is the only V4 that I have and I won't buy another. The left heal gave me a blister the first day that I wore them. Now I am stuck with them because they have been worn. They are a beautiful color but the sock fit does fit a little more snug that my other NB. I wore thinner socks because of this and still got a blister. I love the 1165 V1 and the 1080 V9 and walk 5+ miles a day in them.

No big bulky tongue, excellent arch support
This is my 3rd pair of this style shoe. They work well for long distance walking. They have good arch support as I tend to invert my feet. I really like the elastic around the top. Thick, bulky tongues tend to hurt my ankle, tendons cheating shin splints. These do not have that tendency.

Comfortable on soles of my feet but fit sucks everywhere else
I got these shoes and did 2 indoor gym workouts with them. Decided to return them for a few reasons:1. These shoes are highly dependent on what socks you are wearing because the shoe is fitted/stretched to fit snuggly on your foot. I am NOT going to change my socks every time i want to throw on my shoes.2. Because the shoe fits snuggly around the foot, it is uncomfortable around the top of my foot (shoe lace area). The laces can make it fit tighter, but I needed it looser.3. My toes rub the top of the shoe (the toe box is wide/tall but flat)4. There is a rounded area on the inside heel area of the shoe that pushes forward against the back of the heel. I may have been able to adapt to it, but I could also see it potentially causing a blister. In the end, not for me so I returned them.

Awesome shoe for pronaters!
What I like:The fit is perfect which is amazing because that rarely happensThe shoe is designed to compensate for my pronating waysThe shoe is light and the footing is solidThe upper breaths so no hot tootsiesI love these so much I am also wearing them for errands etc. They are just super comfy.I recommend these shoes!

Meh.
Love the color - hate that there’s no tongue - fabric always gets bunched up when I put them on and it’s hard to grip it to pull it flat. Also, who thought it was a good idea to put the lumps on the back of the heel area??? They caused bad blisters! I had to cut them out of the shoe!

Excellent shoe.
Fits a tad small but fine with a thin sock. Very comfortable and excellent support for my feet. Since I've been wearing them for my walking, my feet are in better shape as the shoe properly aligns my foot. With the flared sole they are very stable over ground. Great buy!

Sturdy support
Love this trainer! Sturdy support and love the added ‘sock’ around the ankle, makes the trainer feel more secure. Fab colour ;-) Only ran a few miles in them, but so far so good. Comfortable journey had.

The shoes are problably just as fantastic as my old pair, sadly they haven't arrived. I waited a long time and now they are called missing. I miss them too...
