Perfect fit for my Prefection heater
Easy to install. Was a Perfect fit for my Perfection 1712 kerosene heater. Bought another one to keep as a spare. BE SURE TO LET YOUR NEW WICK SOAK FOR AT LEAST ONE HOUR before trying to lite.

Fits and works perfectly; remember to pre-burn the top.
Fit perfectly in my antique Perfection 730 heater, and works just like it should. Easy to install and burns well without any smoke or smell. This is definitely the one you want for your antique kerosene heater. It is solid woven cotton from top to bottom, not the stringy sock like some other brands. The tail is cut into 4 sections rather than 2 like the original wicks were, which probably makes it a little easier to guide them down into the tank. You will need to pre-burn the top edge of the wick before you put any kerosene in the tank, so that the top is level and doesn't smoke. To do this, after you install the wick and while you have the flame spreader removed, raise it so that all of the top edge of the wick is slightly above the top of the wick tubes. Squirt cigarette lighter fluid all along the top edge of the wick and light it. It will burn for a few minutes until it is burned down even with the top of the wick tube, then it will go out. Take the edge of a knife and scrape it until the top edge is all even with the top of the tubes. The wick is now level and you can fill the tank and light it up and enjoy! You won't be disappointed.

Works fine, just not a perfect fit
I had to work my wick into the tank. The original could slide in and out without much resistance. I got it to work and it kicks out a lot of heat.

not as easy as the original to install.
Installation was not as easy as the original to nnstall. The four cuts frayed and kept getting caught in the adjustment gear. Much trimming was needed. The gear slots inonly two places as opposed to the original which was sloot all the way around made installation difficult. Other than that, it worked very well and is being used today to heat my garage.
