Professional's Review: Super Pad
As a seasoned professional user, I feel the need to tell everyone how good this Lake Country pad is. I have used all the major brands and some off label items too. The backing on the pad is sturdy, yet the outside edge has just enough flex to maintain shape to work contours and corners. A 7" backing plate snugs into this pad exactly. The pad's centering hole is a helpful touch if your plate has one as well. The wool itself is twisted for heavier cutting. It is securely attached to the backing, so it feels balanced and yields great results in the hands of an experienced rotary polisher user. Several people wrote reviews complaining about the lint from this pad. It is a 100% wool compounding pad: they will throw some lint. I did not have full strands coming off while polishing. That can happen when snagging the pad on the edge of a panel or trim, but proper technique eliminates those chances. Prep the pad when new by raking your fingers through it and tapping out the loose strings of lint. Real wool pads do this and the Lake Country is no exception. I did pluck a few strands during this process, but nothing out of the ordinary. Sure, there is still a bit of lint thrown when running this pad on my rotary polisher. That is how it works. Use compressed air with a blow gun to clean the paint surface and work area to solve that problem. Don't want lint? Use a foam pad but understand the tradeoffs. Wool is great for heavy cutting, quicker results, cooler surface temperatures, and consistency on old single stage and crusty finishes. It also is stellar for heavy work on most base-clear finishes. A lot of people only use DA machines, yet many of them are discovering wool cutting pads work well on those machines. I am not here to argue the merits of one over the other (I use both). However, this pad is *not* one to use with a DA: it is too large and too thick. If you are using a rotary machine and need moderate to heavy cutting with a durable pad that is balanced, this pad is a great choice.

great price & K.O. oxidation !
I’m a professional boat refinisher/ painter ,Lake county makes good stuff I even had a problem with there earlier pads they are a solid company for white wool hook and loop rotary pads are in my top 3 brands for the price and quality! They hold up like the other two brands I use that are more expensive. And light years better than other less expensive white wool ( packs a punch! That you want cutting oxidation down !) they all fuzz out like you tied two cats together but there tail at first run a light spray of water on it run it with a pad wheel looks like cow boy spurs 3 in a row on a Handel for a few to knock the fist fuzz off . Then you should be good to go! Keep that boat clean and you will not need one lol . But if you do it’s a great deal go with lake county Florida co. Buy American 🇺🇸 hire local ! 🤙🏽

Cuts well abd does it's job!
Great product overall. Materials seem to be holding up over the few times I've used it. I would advise anyone to spin loose fibers outside before applying to any surface because loose fibers got every where in my shop on the first use. The pad cut well and delivered.

No brainer! Buy this pad and you won’t regret it for a second! Lake Country is the best!
This Lake Country pad is great! I have now purchased two of these great US made wool pads! Buffing out with compounds like Menzerna is made easy! The results are amazing! Keeping them clean is a breeze also! Way better than any pads I’ve ever used! Thanks Lake Country!!!

Tumbleweed nightmare 😳
Prep is EVERYTHING so make sure to clean, wash, wipe and claybar before hitting with a cutting and/or polishing wheel. The first install onto your tool with a new wheel is always difficult because the hook and loop area isnt quite a plug and play type of piece so press EXTREMELY hard so the wheel dont spin off and fly across the room and over the moon! 🌙 I used some easily purchased and inexpensive meguiars scratch repair (comes in a pink bottle) and put 5 dabs onto the wheel. Used my tool on low to spread evenly onto the paint and begin but as soon as the wheel started to spin around 4800 RPM is when the wool began to separate and turned my shop into an 80s Clint Eastwood cowboy set with the amount of tumbleweed rolling around the floor! 🤠 after the loose fibers came off and the wheel was used for a bit it started to do the job and clean up the scratches and away we went to get this s***box of a work car into a clean daily driver with a better shine then the wife's Yukon Denali 😏 but now I'm told I'm doing hers too so biscuits! 😤

It did it's job
This worked exceptionally well. I should have conditioned the pad better because it blew a lot of fuzz in the beginning. Sure helped restore the shine to a gel coat of a 30yr old boat.

Perfect old school cutting pad!
This pad is what we used to use back in the day before some “creative” person thought foam pads were the way to go. It doesn’t come apart in the first few minutes of use. And it’s washable! Try that with a foam sponge! The Velcro backing is a surprisingly good idea! Just learn how to use it and you’ll never use a sponge again!
