Anti-Slip Spray for Increased Grip on Fiberglass, Acrylic, Concrete and Tiles – Clear Non-Slip Coating for Shower, Bathtubs & Floors

Used this product on the shower pan in my master bathroom. Put it on as directed every 20 minutes. I put a new spray on. The smell is very strong, so I suggest if you have a window in your bathroom open it up and turn on the vents. Put a towel under the door to keep the odor from coming in to the rest of the house. It is very strong and caustic. It works like a dream. I'm not afraid of slipping in shower ever again. Highly recommend this product.

This is the best stuff to treat the bottom of your bath tub or shower. We treated our shower and tub 10 yrs ago. It is just now wearing off, so we will re-apply it. This product has kept us from slipping or sliding in our tub and shower. We love it.

The media could not be loaded. I was beyond excited about Slip Doctors because, a few weeks ago, I had a near-death experience in my own shower. One wrong step, and suddenly I was starring in a slow-motion action sequence where every bone in my body auditioned for a break. Not wanting to relive that horror, I dove into research and found this product, hailed as the savior of slippery tiles everywhere.Now, I’m a rule follower. Like, the type who reads IKEA instructions twice before even opening the box. So I meticulously followed every step in the Slip Doctors bible. Shower dry? Check. Floors cleaned? Check. Product applied in thin, even layers with more precision than a pastry chef icing a cake? Triple check. I even gave the floor a full 12-hour “do-not-disturb” spa day before stepping in.When I finally hopped into the shower, I was impressed. The grip felt solid—like I could survive a Slip ’n Slide contest in there. But the minute I turned on the water, I noticed something strange: smooth spots. Uh oh. Then I looked down and realized the “magic” non-slip coating was peeling off. Not swirling down the drain like a dramatic exit, no. It piled up on the drain like it was plotting revenge and promptly clogged it.Within five minutes, my floor was back to being a death trap, my drain was stuffed with regret, and my faith in humanity was gone. Long story short, this product didn’t just slip—it completely fell apart. I’m not sure where I went wrong, but if you’re looking for a non-slip solution, maybe just invest in a rubber mat. Or, you know, a full suit of armor.

UPDATE: approximately 3 weeks has passed since we applied this to the bottom of our tub. I noticed a rather large bubble (approx sz- 5x7) on the bottom of the tub today and realized it was peeling off the bottom of the tub. I had to peel it all off which came up easily so I could reapply to the surface. I still like the product even if we have to reapply it once a month. It makes the tub much safer for my husband who is prone to falls.I sprayed on the bottom of my tub one thick layer (1/2 can) and it was completely dried within 4 hours. You can't see any difference in my tub surface but can feel this bumpiness that will definitely keep us from slipping around. I will warn you though it smelled up our entire house (paint varnish smell) and our neighbors! The neighbor came by to make sure everything was ok - he asked if I was painting.. Lol I opened every window in our house and it took about 3 hours to get the smell out. My husband was concerned about it causing the furnace to spark a fire - it was that strong of a smell. That is why I knocked off 1 star. I knew it would smell which is why I opened our bathroom window and put a towel under the door but it still made its way through our house. So far after a week of use. one thick coat and 8 hours dry time it works great. might spray another cote for a little extra grip. It's completely clear. It does have a very strong smell for a few hours after spraying so use with exhaust fan on and window open. I'd buy again.

It really works. My shower floor is exactly like my spouse's tub (that we paid a lot more money for a non-slip surface to be applied by a professional). Now I can use my sugar scrub with oils and not worry about slipping. I purchased 2 cans just to make sure I had enough since some of the reviews mentioned the can only sprayed for a few seconds. I only used 1/2 can to cover a 3.5 by 3 foot shower fiberglass floor.Respirator: Make sure to wear a respirator as this product can damage lungs. I purchased a 3M 6100 small half mask reusable respirator that came with 2 sets of 3M 2071 filters, the best $15 investment I ever made.Instructions: It didn't come with instructions, but you can print these by going to: SlipDoctors dot com -> Products -> Anti-slip solutions -> Shower Solutions -> Non-slip Spray -> Instructions.1. Make sure to clean the surface: Use a straight-edge razor to remove any traces of stuck-on gunk (in my case, it was removing the non-slip stickers), then clean with Bon Ami cleanser (or you can use Comet, etc.), wash thoroughly, wipe it dry. Then I poured acetone (nail polish remover without water in the ingredients) on a rag, and wiped it down. I allowed the shower to dry completely for about 2 hours.2. Tape off the area you want to spray with painter's tape. Make sure to tape over the drain to avoid spraying into it. Then attach newspapers (or painter's paper) about 2 feet up along the shower walls (or bathtub), and tape it down to the painter's tape. You will have to remove the paper after applying the spray, so try to make sure you attach each section of paper together to avoid any paper from falling onto the product while it's still wet.3. Shake the can vigorously for 3 minutes (making the metal ball in the can make noise to mix the product). This was a workout, as I shook both cans at the same time in case one of the cans didn't work.4. Put on the respirator! I can't stress this enough. I have permanent lung damage from not wearing a respirator during one of my other projects several years ago.5. Open any windows in the bathroom, and turn on the ceiling ventilation fan. If others are in the house, close the bathroom door and place a towel on the floor against the door. When leaving the bathroom, put the towel on the floor against the outside of the door. This will prevent the fumes from getting to the rest of the house.6. Spray the product gently back and forth about 1 foot above the surface to cover it lightly. (I went over it again with another light coat.) If a second coating is desired, you can reapply 30-60 minutes after the first application (one coat is preferred). I guess I sprayed it a little heavier than recommended, because it was still wet after an hour. I found that I didn't need a second coat. Remove the tape and paper shortly after application, but make sure it doesn't touch the wet product.7. If you have product left in the can and you want to save it for a later project: Turn the can upside down into a plastic garbage bag to release some air to clean out the sprayer nozzle.8. After 24 hours the shower should be ready to use. The smell dissipates after about 12 hours.01/21/15 update: The floor is holding up great, however, I think I figured out why the manufacturer of the shower pans makes these so darn slippery... it's to allow the water to completely drain off into the center drain. After applying the nonslip spray, my shower floor collects water and does not allow it to drain off on its own. It's as if the grit on the floor keeps the water on the floor in several places. The next morning, even after keeping the shower door open, I still have big drops of water on the shower floor. Now I have to squeegee the water from the floor into the drain after showering so it can completely dry. I keep the small squeegee hanging in the shower. I also use it to squeegee off the glass walls, which keeps the shower cleaner in between my weekly heavy cleaning.

Worked great. Easy to apply.Yet to determine is how long it works before a reapplication is needed.
