Better than expected
I hoped to make my 5 D-cell Maglite a little brighter than it was with the original incandescent bulb (which was yellow and dim by modern flashlight standards). I investigated several options and decided on this one. Very happy I did. The installation took about 2 minutes (easy) and the light is (without exaggerating) probably 10 times brighter. It's a very white light (not "warm" as with Cree LED lights). The lower-intensity setting works as advertised (I was dubious, but it works great): With the light on normal "hi" mode, turn off and back on for "low" mode--still plenty of light to walk by in a campground or on a trail in the dark, but with ridiculously long battery life. This makes a smart upgrade for an older Maglite!

Dual mode bulb, very good brightness.
I bought this to replace my 370 Lumen LED bulb from LiteXpress because i wanted the dual mode. It works great in my 6D and 6C maglite's. Although i have to say the 525 Lumens is not any brighter than the 280 or 370 lumen LED bulbs or if there is a difference i can't see it but that's not why i got this bulb. I got it for the low mode and the extended battery life. I have other quad 18650 or tripple 21700 battery flashlights and yes they are brighter but i never use any of the higher modes and those need to be charged almost after each hiking trip but not the same with the maglite's, i have yet to replace the batteries and I take my 2 and 3 year olds out on urban safari in the middle of the city here in Taipei. I've been using the 6C for 2 years and the 6D for about a year at least once a week for at least an hour. A bonus feature i found with both maglites i found by accident when my 2 year old son banged the light into the wall while turned on full power is that it went to low power with that bump. Now if i am walking and have it on full power i just bounce the light on my knee and it will switch to low power but not back up, just bump the tail end lightly just above my knee or with the palm of the other hand. Very happy with these, maybe i'll convert my wife's 2C to this dual power mode bulb later in the future.

Easy Upgrade
This worked as a fantastic upgrade to my old Maglite flash lite. Just unscrew the old and put in the new kit. A lot brighter and probably will never need another bulb again!

Key words are “Up To”
The details state this bulb delivers up to 525 lumens. Maybe that’s the case with an extra extra large 6 D-cell flashlight. But with a large 4 D-cell flashlight, the light output isn’t 525 lumens. More like 350, give or take. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s definitely better than the old incandescent bulb. The old bull didn’t provide much light and the shape was always off centered .. likely because the filament was off center inside the bulb. The new LED bulb does provide two powers. Double pressing without clicking allows you to bounce back and forth between the two brightness settings programmed into the bulb. I doubt the original makers of the large Mag-lites ever dreamed their flashlight would do that. Then click to hold that setting. One setting is quite dim such that it won’t totally ruin your night vision and the other is notably brighter than the original bulb. This bulb was fairly expensive for a single bulb, so it better last. But for the moment, this new bulb has breathed new life into our 4 D-cell (Billy Club) Mag-Lite that I was thinking about getting rid of.

Just buy it if you have a non LED Maglight!
Works great and very bright compared to stock bulb. Low power /High power capability well worth the extra cost for this feature. Quality seems very nice and coming from Germany it was expected.

3 1/2 months and it’s done.
Light output was great in the beginning. I liked the two light levels. Then the light started to flicker occasionally and in a week of that the high output stopped working then a week later no light at all. My original bulb works just fine so it has to be this “upgraded bulb”. Huge disappointment as I don’t use it every day nor for a long service at a time. I hope someone else comes out with one that can provide better service.
