Babar The Movie

I honestly bought this dvd because I had the movie on vhs and my player was taking up too much space. I’ve liked this movie since I was a kid.

My 3 year old son loves this movie and the characters of Babar. In my first viewing of the movie I thought it might be a bit much since the Babar and Celeste characters are trying to escape the villian in the movie, there were fires and loud roars etc...but it didn't seem to bother him at all. He marched right along with them stayed glued to the tv for the whole movie.

Was one of my favorite films when I was a kid and still is.

I grew up watching this and just HAD to get it for my son! Adorable characters, fun music, and sweet story!

I first viewed Babar The Movie when it was released in cinemas, then about six years old and looked to purchase this for my children, as some say even the series had mild violence but it's no Watership Down; it depends on your child, I recall it stirred me and made me sad at times when I was a child but that's why it became a part of my heart, Babar is a sentimental epic, sit down and watch it with your children like my father did with me, you are destined to enjoy it with an open mind.

Reccomended for kids AND adults. The kids will love Barbar and the adults will love the bureaucrats / committee song ( the tape is worth getting for that alone!)

I had this on VHS when I was a child. This is one of the movies I always remember.

I remember Babar from when I was young. I didn't think about him until a few years ago when I found that the cable channel Qubo was carrying a series (in the middle of the night, of all times). I've been recording the episodes and watching them as I work around the house. The series is rated TV-Y7. Programs rated TV-Y7 are designed for children age 7 and older. The episodes have something for everyone, including jokes and remarks that adults would find amusing. Nothing objectionable! As an example, one of the episodes is titled "My Dinner With Ritaxes", a play on "My Dinner With Andre".When I saw that this movie was available, and the number of positive reviews, I ordered it. It's little more than a musical with a story kind of built around it. An earlier reviewer stated that the movie was too intense for young children. The movie is about the adventures of Babar and in most adventures there is a hero, a villain, and conflict. I feel that the first, second, and fifth episodes of the first season (the ones with the hunters) are far darker than this movie.If this movie is available through your library you can determine, after viewing, if you still want to purchase it.

Immer wieder weiter zu empfehlen, allerdings muss man damit rechnen das das Kind danach Elepfantendauerfan ist.Bestes Beispiel bin ich wahrscheinlich selbst. hab den Film als Kindlein recht häufig gesehen!^^

Toller Film, wenn man die Bücher kennt eine tolle Ergänzung. Doch für ca. 3-jährige etwas zu brutal, die Kinder sollten diesen Film nicht allein sehen. Elefantenkühe /mütter werden wie im Krieg von ihren Kindern getrennt.Freigegeben ist der Film ab o Jahren.
