Rugged. Air RA200 Aviation Headset for Student Pilots & Flight Schools

I recently purchased the Rugged Air Headset from Amazon, and I couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase. Despite shipping all the way to South Africa from the US, the delivery was remarkably efficient, arriving promptly and in perfect condition. The quality of this headset truly stands out. Started flight school and wanted our own headsets, so after reading reviews, we bought these. They are lighter in weight than the ones the school offered to loan us, but the microphone, connectivity, noise cancelation and overall quality are great! The size can be adjusted to fit your head and the microphone adjusted to speak into comfortably. I had one day where it seemed like it was cutting out, but I told my instructor and he adjusted something on the plane and then it worked beautifully with great connectivity. Would highly recommend!

I just recently got back into flying and resurrected my old David Clark's.. I put new ear pads on them and polished the plugs and I thought they were ok. I was on a little longer flight and it started to hurt my ears and head. I decided to try the RA200 that my son had in the back seat for passengers to see if it fit any different. It was lighter, sat down on my ears more comfortablely and the sound was noticeably better and louder. I guess my DC's didn't age well as I thought sitting in the garage for a couple of decades, lol. I ordered a RA200 for myself.

I've been really impressed with this headset, especially considering the price compared with other aviation headsets. The build quality feels solid and durable, and the overall design gives me a sense of confidence when using it. It doesn't feel like a cheap headset even though it costs considerably less than many other options. The audio is generally clear, and the microphone works well. My main complaint is that I wish it did a better job blocking or reducing background noise. There are also occasional moments where my voice gets a little lost during transmission, although it's not a constant issue. Despite those small drawbacks, I think it's a very good headset for the money. The materials, comfort, controls, and overall construction make it feel reliable, and I would definitely consider it a good option for someone looking for an affordable aviation headset.

I’ve been using this about hundred hours in my airplane and I love it. Audio quality is excellent. The volume adjustment is excellent and it actually works better than my other headphones that cost twice as much. Also, the ear cushions are still in great shape. Noise cancellation is acceptable, commensurate with the price. Great value!

As a fresh student pilot, I finally decided to purchase a headset. I honestly strayed away from this headset because of the price; however, I did my homework, read reviews, watched video reviews, and I'm so glad I made the right choice! Everything is heard clearly, the headset is comfortable, it adjusts easily, and it's priced very well..... especially for us student pilots that are paying out-of-pocket. When I first used the headset, I noticed the stock foam ear seals made me sweat more and the noise cancelling wasn't that great (as it was stated in nearly every review). I read the reviews and it was recommended to purchase the gel ear seal kit to make the noise cancellation much better and less sweating. I purchased it and I stalled the new pieces and it made a huge difference! Basically, everything I read in the reviews were spot on. I did read the ear cups were hard to switch out, but I didn't have that problem. Basically, this is a great starter headset or a headset for passengers. It's not Bluetooth compatible, I can't plug in my music or anything, and that's completely fine. The last thing I need is another distraction as I'm trying to maintain altitude while doing a turn. I overall, this is a great headset and I would recommend it to anyone!

i'm a new student pilot, a lot of people recommended the david clark h10-13.4 and i did use those once but honestly i think these are better. they are a little bit uncomfortable after a while but i think the audio quality is just as good as the dc's and i think the microphone sounds a little better in my opinion

These things are great, especially for beginners. I’ve had my flight instructor telling me he wants a pair and he’s been flying for decades. Great quality and they work just fine. 10/10.
