They are thicker through the foot and heel, almost like a wool sock. They are extremely comfortable and DO wick sweat very well. So far they have been very durable and I have not had any athletes foot issues since switching to these socks. **Q: Is this 6 individual socks or 6 pairs?** A: Yeah, looking at the photos, one shows 3 pair and the other shows 6 and by golly the price is different. Too hard for some to figure out.
