I love them
They arrived in very good condition, very well boxed. The only downside is that there is only a sheath for the knife and none for the fork. They are very sturdy and feel good holding them. Totally recommend this set and the seller/

Reasonable for the Price
The Fork was all I was after as an old room mate decided he really liked my well made Henkil and re-leaved me of it lest I poke out an eye. The Knife is ok nothing to write home about were it to not have the semi fake folded Steel markings it would have been a better review. I know something about Metallurgy as I have a Degree in Material Science of which Damascus Steels were of interest. The folding of Wrootz Steel as mined in India and sold to the sword makers of Islam cause the impurities and the carbides to form at the grains boundary layers thus allowing the individual grains to move as needed like ball bearings. This ability prevents dislocations which are air voids created when the steels bend forcing the grins to move In the case of folded steels the grains do so freely. Where as normal steels the grains move an cannot move back into place they have done so. To see this affect bend a metal coat hanger then try and get the bend to straighten out without a hammer.

Five stars after only one use
I'm a single dad, home cook/chef, and never owned a carving knife of any kind. I purchased this in lieu of buying a deli slicer to make Italian beef for sandwiches. I was trying to recreate my favorite sandwich from down the road, where they effectively shave the roast after its cooked and cooled. The shaved roast is super tender and soaks up the au jus perfectly and I wanted to get as close as possible to that. That was job #2 I gave to the knife (job #1 was flank steak for fajitas) and it exceled at both tasks. Granted, the knife was fresh out of the box and anything less than supremely sharp would have been a disappointment, but that was not the case. This thing was a champ. I don't really care for the idea of printing the wavy, Damascus steel lines on an otherwise plain steel knife, but whatever. This isn't fancy steel, but with a little care, it should last awhile. Recommended certainly.

This is a SHARP knife
This was a great value. It was exactly what I was wanting for hosting the holidays. I think mine may be haunted though. I set it up, blade away, for my dad to carve the turkey. He fumbled with the knife and tried to catch it as it fell (I don’t advise trying that). He sliced his finger something fierce and proceeded to sling blood all over my kitchen. I sent him to the ER and cleaned up the bloodbath. He came back with 6 stitches and proceeded to start over. I watched the knife fly out of his hands three more times and cut him again another time (no stitches needed for that one). After we ate and put him in time out, my mom was helping me wash the dishes. She comes up to me within five minutes looking for a bandaid. Yup. She cut herself on the knife. This thing is like the tiki god on the Brady Bunch Hawaiian vacation. Excellent knife, just try to avoid the ones that are actively trying to draw your blood.
