It’s advertised as WiFi connected device. Strictly speaking that true, but only so if you are willing to give up your privacy to someone else’s cloud, probably in China. Do you like the idea of some unknown party somewhere being able to control and monitor your home? Beyond this, the documentation is poor. If you choose to use this product without giving up your privacy, the interface is minimal and poorly documented. Good luck trying to set the clock on it or program the set temperatures from the buttons n the front. Even if you don’t care about your privacy and you want to download “the app”, it’s not even clear as to how to do that as the vendor doesn’t specify specifically which app you should use, there are several ‘Smart life’ apps and it’s not clear which one is appropriate. Keep junk like this out of your home.

Overall I’m pretty pleased with this unit. Installation was simple enough, however mine was complicated by two factors... firstly the unit is deeper than the thermostat it was replacing. Even with a standard size backplate, this new unit wouldn’t fit. So I had to buy a ‘spacer’ to put between the wall and the unit. It’s so much deeper, that even with this spacer, it only just fits, I very nearly needed two.Secondly it was complicated by the wiring for the floor temperature probe, specifically the type of connector at the back on the unit. In the box is a new temperature probe, this has a two thick metal ends which plug into the unit. There was already a probe in place, so rather than disrupt everything I wanted to use the existing one. In theory not a problem, however the new unit wouldn’t take bare wires... no matter how much you tightened it they would slip out and the one time I did manage to get the unit mounted without them falling out, on power up it came up with a floor sensor error message.The solution was the cut the wire provided in the box, with the two thick metal ends, and join the existing wires to the new wire. Ultimately that worked, but was a bit of a pain.However now it’s installed and set up, I’m pleased to report a few good things too.Firstly it’s really easy to use, either via the Wi-Fi app or using the controls on the screen. It’s so much more intuitive than the traditional unit it was replacing which required a degree in jibberish to programme. Switching between the timer programme and manual control is easy and it works with my Alexa and again, this was easy to set up.Secondly, having suspected the old thermostat was faulty, this has given new life to an old underfloor heating system in our kitchen. There is now a nice toasty warmth underfoot and the ambient temperature of the room is greatly improved as a result.Pretty happy overall, but marked down one star for each of the installation issues.

The thermostat was easily installed as it was replacing an existing, failed, one and it fitted directly on to the existing back box.Installing the software on my device was also straightforward and once completed makes it easy control to control the thermostat.It is a little thicker than I imagined it would be but is still acceptable.

I was not able to even try it…. Error E1 from the beginning. Returning

Good thermostat, easy to install and initially set up though the wifi settings are near impossible to set up, instructions different to product and won’t pick up on the app. Which is a shame as we chose this one specifically for the wifi and smart settings.

Reasonably easy to connect up to wifi and to put in programmes for the week's central heating, as well as to override using the app if needed. Very convenient and especially happy given this is much cheaper than some of the other options out there.

Fantastic smart home product at a reasonable price. Does everything I need including Alexa integration.

A nice, easy install. App setup was a breeze. Working well to control my underfloor electric heating.
