FINALLY a litter box with a low entry for older cats and kittens
5 stars for this company. Finally someone has thought of the needs of older cats or kittens. I have 2 fifteen year old cats who are in very good health however, I don't think it is necessary for them to jump in and out of a litter box that has a 6 inch high opening. It is totally unnecessary. My cats took to this box instantly and you know cats don't like change! The opening is wide enough and low enough for older cats and kittens to enter the litter box very easily and without strain or effort. The box cleans up beautifully and the matching canopy seals the deal with keeping the litter in the box. This box is a MUST HAVE for older cats, physically challenged cats, larger cats and kittens. It accommodates really all shapes and sizes and the box is big enough for my Lunar who is very, very long and tall. I say BRAVO to this company for thinking "outside of the box" and considering the needs of our older cats! I would HIGHLY recommend this box to anyone, form, functionality and lovely to look at! Seriously, I am so happy I found this and I can't say enough good things about the design. Superior product!!!!

Great for smaller cats who struggle with tall edges
We’ve tried 5 different litter systems to date since getting our two persian kittens. Our female didn’t care about anything and adapted well but the male was picky and was having some inappropriate voiding. After watching him closely for a while I noticed he seemed to avoid our current Omega Paw box because of the tall edge he had to climb over to get into the box. He is a very petite cat, now at a year old still under 8lbs and about two lbs smaller and a little shorter than his sister as he was the runt. After watching the way he would move his legs (which was almost like a high step and looked uncomfortable) and how he seemed to want to dig but not have the space to do that in our current box I began researching and landed on these. After ordering I put them on the table for a few days to let him check it out. He climbed in and laid in them a few times, and I saw he had none of the same issues entering and exiting the box as our other one. We then replaced the old box with these and filled each with half a 25lb box of litter. Just enough to be appropriate for voiding depth but not overfilled to create a mess like some reviewers I saw pictures from. Within minutes he ran into the box and used it. He walked right into it without the awkward high stepping, did his business, spun around and dug for a few minutes. I clean the boxes morning and night and I notice he goes more frequently now so i think a lot of his inappropriate voiding before was from avoiding the litter box and holding it until he couldn’t wait any longer. We haven’t had any other incidents since switching but we haven’t really tested that either by leaving any towels on the bathroom floor. We haven’t had any problems with litter being kicked everywhere like reported- I think that’s a combo of overfilling and maybe too large of a cat for the box. We have a litter mat outside the box and it isn’t catching anything extraordinary. I also really appreciate the higher back end because males do tend to make a mess when they potty and the breeder recommended a high side box so this has been great, no messes outside the box. Wonderful product and will recommend again and again!

My cat's too big
This is indeed a very nice box for senior cats. My cat has stopped using his other box because this one is so easy for him to get into. The problem is that this box is too small for him. I measured the length of his old box before ordering this one. So I thought I was getting 2" more which would've been perfect. But that extra 2" is the little protrusion or lip that sticks out from under the tub. The tub itself is the same length as the one I have. So half of his business is still ending up on the mat. Also, silly me, I did not measure the width of the old box. This box is very narrow. My cat is 17lbs and this box is much too small for him. Wish they had this same design and material in a wider and longer box for big cats. UPDATE 2/24/17: I changed my rating from 3-5 stars. It's my fault that I measured incorrectly. The box is excellent as far as my senior cat having easy access. He's using it more than the other box. I think I've solved the problem of the occasional accident because the box isn't long enough. I purchased a boot tray and my husband removed the rim around it. I placed it at the box's entry point to catch the occasional accident. Not only does it do that. It also catches the litter that gets caught in his paws. Then he steps from that onto the litter mat that catches the rest of the litter. Since doing this, I've seen no litter tracked throughout the room. Each morning I shake the litter off the boot tray back into the box and wipe it off with a damp paper towel. My workload seems to have gotten easier.

Good option for kittens or older cars that need a low entry
I found this litter box to be a good size. It was perfect for my cat who loves space to move the litter for covering up his mess. The negative having the extra low extension on the front, too much kitty litter was coming out on the ground. Unfortunately I did return and chose another higher entry box, but if low entry is what you need I found this litter box to be sturdy and accurately described in the seller summery.

Our picky Persian approves this
We have a male persian cat, hes pretty long and chunky. He has had recurring urinary blockage issues and struggled with other cat toilets for various reasons. We bought this litter tray as he recenhtly had a blockage and cystitus. Anyway this cat toilet is nice and long which allows him to fir in comfortably and turn around, he took to it straight away. When he gets cystitus he can be reluctant to step over a high entry to a litter tray so this tray with the lowered entry worked out great and he had no issues getting in or out. I see others comment on litter being kicked out from the low entry, I have to say we had this over a week and this has not been a problem - Grimalkin is a real kicker of litter and so if this was an issue then we would have seen it for sure. I think the length of the tray prevents the litter spilling out and also believe other owners must have over filled the tray. I use a bag of the 10l litter and we have no problems. I really recommend this tray if your cat has urinary issues, is older or struggles with mobility.

Nice Litter Box with Wonderful Canopy
I was a little concerned with the low entrance, but bought it anyway as my lady cat would be using it. Besides, I really wanted that pink-dotted canopy that fits this litter box - so adorable! So what if my cat doesn't care. :) The litter box itself is quite roomy (as is the canopy), and I really appreciate that dust from digging/covering does not cling to the sides of the box. Keeps this litter box cleaner and looks much less messy than all the others. On the room-for-improvement-side, I would design the front higher (or add that design), as even my lady cat sometimes spills out a little bit of litter when covering her business. This is definitely not the box for diggers! Kitties, lady cats, and older cats having trouble getting in and out of higher-sided boxes might do well with this litter box. Another point I would like to mention is that the litter box is a sensitive design, as I have to be mindful at all times when cleaning it, and cannot just mindlessly and hurriedly scoop from back to front or side to side, or just scrape around with gusto as I used to do with other large, deep litter boxes. Scooping on the slippery plastic of this box (a sticky point on other litter boxes), can get out off hand when combined with the low entrance. Oops! All in all, I am glad I purchased this litter box with the pink-dotted canopy - makes me smile every time I look at it, and all is working out well with my lady cat and my scooping. ;)

great idea but needs to be bigger
I have some misgivings about this box. I have a multi cat household and bought this specifically for my xtra large and quite overweight kitty who is also stiff and sore in the hindquarters. This box seemed to be the ideal for what I was looking for in order to make exit/entry for him easier. In this regard it does serve it's purpose. But being that he is quite a large cat I would be much happier with this box if it were about 2-3 inches longer and also 2-3 inches wider. All of my cats use this box but my 2 big boys really fill it up and the stiff/sore back baby has a hard time turning around in it. And as others have said, if you have a litter-slinger in your house you will get quite a bit of litter out on the front. But I remedy this by placing a puppy pee-pad in front and then can just lift that up and pour back in the slung out litter. A newspaper or something similiar would also serve this same purpose. I expected this problem as my other big boy here could win a gold medal in the olympics for litter slinging. He's a pro at it. All in all I can neither complain or sing high praises about this box. I could easily give it 5 stars if it were bigger. And one other thing, the color depicted here is not what you will receive. The actual color of the box is a cream color which is quite pretty. And one plus about this box, the cats love to play in the big shipping box that it came in.

Works very well for larger bunnies!
In the 11 years I've had house rabbits, I've gone through a number of different litter boxes. I have two 8 lb bunnies, and one loves to throw her litterbox around for fun, spreading litter everywhere. She refuses to use a litterbox to do her business in, preferring to piddle right next to it, and pooping everywhere. I got two of these, one for each big bun, and they are fabulous! They are light enough that I can handle them easily, but heavy enough that even my problem bun can't pick it up and throw it around. Because they are large enough that my buns can easily fit inside along with a healthy dose of hay, they happily spend their days pooping and peeing where they are supposed to while chowing down. I've been using them for a couple months now, scrubbing and disinfecting them weekly, and so far I've seen no plastic breakdown; the material isn't becoming porous. These litter boxes are deep enough that I can add another layer of litter and hay each day, meaning I don't have to clean them daily. That I can layer the box and avoid cleaning it daily is great, but it also means that when I do empty them every 5-7 days, the bottom layer has already started "composting" for want of a better word, and the entire contents of the litterbox go straight into my compost pile. The only downside I've found is that the box is big enough that when it's full, it's a bit difficult to empty into the backyard compostable garbage bags I use. Then again, the bags are supposed to be 13 gallons, but I doubt they hold more than 10 gallons. They are also very flimsy, so whether the problem is the bag or the box is a matter of perspective. I'm VERY pleased! So far, so great!

Good quality product
This product is ideal for my senior cat who tends to stand while urinating, as the sides are fairly high. I can't judge the usefulness of the low entry because my cat also tends to simply jump over the side, however I find the size and shape of the box much better suited to my cat and myself than other boxes I've tried. I especially like the rounded corners and smooth contour of the inside of the box, which make it much easier to clean. This box is also of a much sturdier design than other boxes I've tried, which tend to crack up the sides, and the handles are a nice touch that make the box much easier to lift with litter inside.

Great litterbox
Awesome litterbox. It's perfect for our old cat who has mobility issues. It's easy for him to access. Walls are high enough on 3 sides to keep litter in, when they scratch. One side is low enough to allow easy access. It's super easy to clean. Just all around a great design and product. Love it.
