Q: What is the difference between "trainer" for $69.99 and "premium" for $99.99 - features seem exactly the same. Thanks.

This questions was asked several times but got no answer. I could be wrong, but it seems that it's just a marketing trick to charge $99.99 instead of $69.99 for the same product

Q: have 12 speed road bike with bolt on back. Will the clamp on both ends have clearance and tightness to fit the thin threaded end and wide hex end??

Yes I had that concern but it's made to except that and more I'm truly enjoying it

Not to be flippant, but about $200.00! This is a good introductory trainer. I have recommended it to several clients who wanted to get into 'cycling' but didn't know whether they would like it or not. This unit provides that introductory experience with spending a ton of cash. Premium trainers offer a lot of goodies that this unit does not -- feedback on calorie consumption, watts produced, max speed, average speed, etc. This unit allows you to safely pedal in place using your own bike. Simple.

I got the more expensive one. The frame is pretty sturdy. They give you a quick release shaft to use instead of the one on your bike. I wish there was more of a difference in the resistance.
