Oribe Surfcomber Tousled Texture Mousse, 5.7 oz

Oh. My. Word. This stuff is amazing. I have been searching for a product like this for years. I have thin, wavy hair and I feel like most products I use to enhance my natural texture separate my hair too much causing it to look stringy and limp. Not this stuff. It gives absolutely perfect laidback beach curls that last all night and into the next day. Apply it when your hair is still very wet (I like to put a little Moroccan oil in first), scrunch it a few times, finger curl the pieces around your face back away from your face, and let it do its thing. It is very expensive, but its already paid for itself in compliments. Plus, unlike most other styling products, this makes my hair feel BETTER the next time I wash it.

I love this product. I have trouble with my short hair in the humidity of Florida. Complaining to my hair stylist about the frizz, she tried this on my hair. All of a sudden my hair stayed in place. I had volume on top and my sides stayed slicked back. I have tried many products and this was the first one that was light enough to give me the look I want. It may be a bit pricy, but it will last for 6 months using it every day, Only put a small amount of the mousse in the palm of your hand and smooth it in. By the way I use it after I towel try my hair. Works better on damp hair. Apply it all over your head and the mess it up to your desired look. It will stay that way and it makes my hair glow. I spray it with a firming hairspray when it's dry just to finish it off, but you don't need to do that. This is my second Oribe purchase and I will stick with it. Same price as my salon.

I both love and hate this product. Love, because it's by far the best mousse I've ever used for my 3A curls. It gives me great volume, defines and enhances my curls, and I get tons of compliments whenever I use it. I hate it because it's so expensive. After wasting a lot of money trying to find a lower-priced alternative and always ending up disappointed, I decided to bite the bullet and stick exclusively with this product. But every time I buy it I'm bummed it costs so much.Keep in mind, this does not leave you with soft, bouncy curls. It's made to add a lot of texture, definition and hold so while my hair looks great it's not hair that I can run my fingers through.

I am a product junkie, and will try anything that promises texture and volume, especially with a "beachy" vibe. My hair is fine and blond, and is limp and wispy without products. Yet, while I want to try everything, I almost never believe a product will really fulfill all its claims. It was with hope and skepticism that I tried the Surfcomber mousse - I also ordered the Oribe Grandiose mousse (yes, an investment, and like I said, I'm a junkie) hoping one of these products did the trick. Let me tell you: this Surfcomber mousse is amazing. I rubbed in a very generous pouf and sprayed a tiny bit of the bumble & bumble thickening hairspray on my ends, then used the blow dryer. My hair is big (in a good way), touchable, and has that great chunky texture without being crispy. I'm not looking like Gisele, but I'm pretty psyched. I love most (though not all) of Oribe's products, but this is my favorite I've tried.

This mousse definitely adds texture and can help to create the 'beach hair' look. There is a fine line of how much to use dpeending on your hair length and thickness. If you use too much, it can get a little crunchy for sure, but it will still look very slept-in and roughed up. This is definitely not for the silky soft blow-out look, but if you have day old hair and you want to create a different look or out of the shower you want a more defined texture, i would recommend this product. I have also never tried other brands for a mousse, so i am not sure if there is a less expensive option that could achieve the same look.

I used a gold ball sized amount on each half of my hair while it was wet, scrunched it up and left it to air dry hoping for the beachy waves effect. However, my hair dried very hard/crunchy and it was not a natural effect at all. For the ridiculous price they are charging, I was hoping this would work miracles, but really, it's no different than any other mousse. The bottle is tiny too! Would not recommend wasting your money on this. Might as well buy a curling wand for this price.

I don't understand...I read the reviews, the claims....and this was not supposed to make my hair crunchy....but it does.I can get crunchy hair for $5 at the drug store on some cheap brand mouse. I'm disappointed.... To spend $32 and end up with 1980 stiff, crunch hair is not good. I bought "Mixed Chicks leave in conditioner" and now have the soft beachy hair I wanted. Don't buy this, it's a lot if money for nothing....unless you really miss the '80s

The BEST product for baby fine hair and shorter 'messy' cuts. It's light weight and you can adjust and mess up through out the day. I use Encore 'expanda dust' after I dry my hair with Oribe lightly spaced out on the roots, This is my 'go to' product. (I've tried them all!).
