Button Books My First of Quantum Physics

Same wine, different bottle
Beautifully illustrated and set this book verbalizes the important concepts and historical events that have led to the quantum field but misses out on engaging (me) at junctures where truly earth shattering work happened.I am not a teacher, a physicist or a mathematician, so please take this with a grain of salt.I have a curious seven year old who loves english poetry, advanced math puzzles, Minecraft, crafting with cardboard and soccer. He is intrigued by the world around him - "Does time move when we are not looking at the clock, Daddy?", he likes to be engaged in conversations on COVID, George Floyd and the US elections. If I read the book with him, I think I will lose him at the 3rd page where quanta are introduced and maybe I can squeeze in another page where wave and particles are introduced.I feel the opportunities to introduce WHY Planck and Newton WANTED to answer all these questions has not been explored in the context of QM. The child is asked to accept that these queries were just there, and move on to "understanding" the concepts. The fact that they saw apples, lights and such with a very different lens than others in their field is why we have this book, in the first place. I am a layman but have read some of Feynman's texts and his way of explaining things. The beauty in those words makes the field so accessible to someone like me who is not working in the area.

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING AND COVERS EVERYTHING
IVe bought 5 now for birthdays and holidays! In love! For ages 4-99 I learned so much and laughed out loud while reading to my kids. From periodic tables to entanglement and schrodengers cat ! IN LOVE ❤️

Excellent
A wonderful introduction to quantum and sub-atomic physics in a picture-book format. The text is clear and easy to read. The pictures and drawings are fun. As a scientist myself I found things I didn't know before. The topic of wave-particle duality was particularly well-treated. You can read through the whole book in an hour or less, but slow down and take some time for the ideas to sink in. For those more mathematically inclined, some of the equations appear at the end of the book. Probably best suited for young adults at the middle school level and above.

Lovely book. Exactly right.
Our 8yo daughter asked for a physics book for her birthday. This was just right! She’s read it several times already, and always learns something new. The illustrations are perfect.

Itty Bitty Stuff
If you graduated in the last century, some of this stuff will be new to you. If you're teaching science, buy it for the teacher and the student!
