Q: Is there an envelope for mailing included?

There is a flimsy box included. Cellophane wrapped also. Quite large. Would need to a wrap box in brown paper to send but that should work. That’s what I will probably do.

Q: what version of the Bible is used?

I have not purchased this yet, but the verse that is shown in the photo is from the Weymouth New Testament (WNT). I assume all verses are from that translation, but I have not seen it to verify that. I imagine that translation was chosen because the style of language is one of the most modern translations that are in the public domain and free to use. In other words, the manufacturer does not have to pay an expensive royalty to use that version but it's "easier" to read than the KJV (which is also in the public domain). I cannot attest to it's accuracy since it is a very obscure translation, but my guess is that the primary verses quoted from Luke 2 would be hard to mess up since they are narrative in nature, so I doubt there will be any serious doctrinal error.
