Great explanation to hashimoto's for all
I fell in love with this book! Having being diagnosed with hashimoto's, I was feeling very frustrated not getting better taking levothyroxine. My GP would tell me it was an autoimmune disease and yet couldn't tell me what went wrong in my immune system for these things to happen. I heard about root causes a lot so decided I'd try his book. It's brilliant as Izabella Wentz has hashimoto's herself it's easy to relate too as you feel like you can relate a lot more. There are a lot of medical and scientific references, but it's still easy to understand and realise why certain things link together with thyroid issues such as adrenal fatigue. The explanations given are great as to how your body can react and makes you think about what things have started your condition. There is no quick cure for hashimoto's as all our bodies are different and we have different genes and what could work for one couldn't work for someone else. The references given to find supplements etc are great the only thing that annoys me in uk is the docs can't just test to find what else is wrong the give you drugs to mask symptoms and they don't work, and we get worse. Most the time as patients we have to pay extra for testing to try and get to our root cause which is wrong. I think all GP'S and Endocrinologists should read this book to help us patients get our bodies back in to remission and start to feel well again. I am on the road to recovery but have a long way to go, I certainly won't be taking levothyroxine again

It is the best and most comprehensive book I've read that brings the ...
After two decades of stomach issues, IBS, candida and an increasingly problematic autoimmune condition (thyroiditis and raynards), this book brings all possible causes and solutions together. I have read numerous books on the gut, intestinal permeability (always a factor in those with autoimmune conditions), candida and IBS, but this book (although focused on the thyroid in the first few chapters) is actually about autoimmunity. It is the best and most comprehensive book I've read that brings the numerous issues (in what is a multi-factorial health problem) all together to explain the 'root cause' of autoimmunity. It also offers treatment options - though never dictates one single approach as the causes can be many...though stress is often the trigger for autoimmune conditions. It's up to the reader to decide on a path that suits them. This is now my 'bible' in my ongoing quest to rid myself of autoimmune thyroiditis, candida and IBS. The author (a pharmacist) suffered from similar gut/autoimmune issues to me and she has done an impressive amount of research to heal herself from what is becoming an increasingly common affliction.

Not as clear as the Hashimoto autoimmune book
I was a bit confused about her research as often contradictory to itself. Also I didn’t think there was much that her previous book didn’t already cover.I did find her Hashimoto Autoimmune a better book.
