yes it comes in a box , but it was not for a 3 yr old didn't want do to her knees were up to her face . Hopper ball bouncy ball is a good name it's just this 1 wasn't a good fit at all . This is the only 1 of this brand I ever had any problems with easy to fix when called amazon went with a different one !!

Q: Is this good for outdoors, such as the sidewalk?

Yes. Indoor or Outdoor. My grand-daughter loved it.
