This is a high quality magnifier with a light. I bought this for my elderly mother who had been using a cheap plastic magnifying glass with light from Bunnings and it was churning through batteries. The difference between the cheap and expensive magnifier is incredible. The thing that stood out to me the most was the high quality glass. We also have not had to change the batteries as yet and mum uses this a lot. I am very happy with this product and would recommend. The rectangular shape is also better for reading.

Ok, so I'm now middle-aged and need this to see small things better (if at all), so I figured since I'll be needing this more and more often from now on, I might as well buy something decent. Knowing nothing about magnifying glasses, I went in here, sorted by decreasing price and somewhere on top of the list I've seen this guy: ‘MADE IN GERMANY’, this must be magnificent (uhm..), right? Anyway, this thing arrived today and as I said, me being an absolute noob at dealing with visual impairment, I can't compare this product to anything else and while I also can't think of any particular expectations I had for a magnifying glass for me other than for it to be doing its job and being a quality product, if I had any others, this item would probably meet them all. I mean, really. It does the magnifying part well and it's made well. It has a protective sheath. It's not too light and it's not too heavy. It feels good in your hand and it has this built-in LED light that I can definitely see being helpful, and while we're at it... you know those three little LED covers that they add to let you adjust the warmth of the light, right? Guess what, whoever designed those considered the fact that the LED is close to the lens and made them easy to install and they pop right off if you apply pressure in a particular spot... I've just tried all the filters without touching the lens and while I'm a bit tipsy after a few beers now so was sure I'm gonna leave some smudges, but naah, this is freaking German engineering, alright? They've got you covered even if it comes to something you're going to do once... So I know I just got it, but even if there is something wrong with it on some later stage (what could be wrong with it???) I'm sure they're prepared for that too. Oh, and I got this holder thingy too. Very helpful in both angles, really. A well designed piece of plastic. Can advise it getting it as well :+1:.... Oh ffs...
