AcureClarifying Shampoo - Lemongrass 354ml

This is the perfect shampoo for my hair. I have very long hair and have been struggling to find at least an “ok” shampoo after the shampoo I was using prior to trying this Acure Curiously Clarifying became obsolete.I just have normal hair — medium thickness, medium body, medium texture and was unable (until now) to find a shampoo I could stand to live with! Really — how hard could it be???Much harder than I thought!! I tried cheap shampoos, high dollar brand name shampoos, daily shampoos, moisturizing, volumizing, clarifying, smoothing, organic and baby shampoos. So needless to say, either the shampoo dried out my hair so it felt like straw, left residue on it so it didn’t even feel clean or caused it to tangle into knots when it came into contact with my clothes. On top of that, my hair just would NOT look or style the way I knew it could and would if I had an appropriate shampoo.You know how it is when your hair just isn’t right ... it’s as annoying as having static clung in all of your clothes and not being able to get rid of it!Finally, I am SO HAPPY to say I have found the shampoo I can use every day AND my hair feels like my hair again!!! Not only that, this shampoo is very affordable which makes me even happier.So if you have normal, regular hair — do yourself (and your hair) a favor and try this shampoo!So if you’re wondering what happened to all the unsatisfactory shampoos I’ve bought ... let’s just say I have enough liquid body soap to last me for quite a while!!!!

I really like this shampoo. I live in a place with extremely hard water and despite this being more natural it still does the job of clarifying my hair and combination skin scalp. I switched to this from lush shampoo bars which cleaned off the minerals in my hair well but left my scalp very itchy from the SLS. It does still foam with some sort of agent that dries me out a little and is itchy a bit but not nearly as much as the shampoo bar does. I think it's reasonably priced for the quality and amount you get which is great. Like it says on the bottle, 0% pretentious, and it is just that. :) The smell is very light and quite neutral lemongrass scent, not perfumey, so anyone would like it.

This stuff is amazing. I had a keratin treatment in August that still does not want to let go. It continues to weigh my hair down periodically if I don’t do some sort of clarifying treatment on a weekly basis.I have to be careful with clarifying shampoo because I color my hair and because I’m often sensitive to chemicals, fragrance, shampoo, etc. I have used several Acure products before and have always been happy with them so I figured I would give it a shot.The smell is pretty strong. It has a strong ginger smell to it that I’m not crazy about but at least it smells like real ginger and not some chemical version of it. It also lathers pretty well when it hits your hair and a little water. Since I’m still dealing with keratin, I wash with this twice.My hair is weighted down up top from keratin and dry at the bottom. A horrible combo. Even with using this twice and a light conditioner to help keep my ends from frying, this stuff has been excellent. My hair up top is nice and light again, I can even add volumizing mousse and it isn’t weighed down. It bounces and is so shiny. Plus, it hasn’t made my ends dry.That strong ginger smell doesn’t linger but my hair looks and smells clean. I would definitely recommend this shampoo over and over again.

I have 3B curls and tend to get product buildup, so I bought this shampoo to start me off on a clean slate and totally clarify my scalp. I'm super careful about what shampoos I use and how often I use them because my curly hair is naturally very dry. The first time I used it and paired it with my normal products I noticed great volume and shine, but it got really frizzy around day 3 and usually I can last 4-5 days between washes. I tried to use it again a few days ago and I noticed I had a really bad tension headache that wouldn't go away. It lasted about 3 days and I couldn't figure out why. As soon as I washed my hair yesterday with my normal shampoo it went away and didn't come back. My guess is the shampoo made my scalp too dry and it could've produced more oil than normal, possibly restricting blood flow based on what I've researched. I think overall it's a great clarifying shampoo but probably better for oily hair types that need this level of strength!

Despite not having any sulphates the shampoo lathers very well. The absence of sulphates (for foaming but tends to dry the scalp) and the overall quality of the Acure shampoo has left my scalp itch free ( no sulphates) and my hair cleaner and more pliable in texture. While not inexpensive in price it’s comparable to other luxury brands.
