Great Product! Gamer Approved!
I’ve now tried four different roasts from Volcanica Coffee Company, and each one has offered something unique. I've brewed all of them using my Chemex, standard pour-over, and French press setups. Across the board, these beans have been fresh, aromatic, and consistently better than anything store-bought. The Costa Rica Tarrazu has been my favorite so far - smooth, clean, and vibrant, with a nicely balanced citrus brightness and a touch of sweetness. It’s an easy 5/5 and one I could easily see as my daily brew. The Ethiopian Yirgacheffe stands out with its bright, fruity, and floral profile. It makes for a clean, complex cup that’s perfect when I want something a bit more lively and layered. The Bolivia Peaberry was rich and full-bodied, with a deeper, more nuanced flavor. I may have received an older bag, but it still tasted great. A little pricier than the others, but worth it if you're looking for something different. The Mexican Medium Roast was smooth, balanced, and slightly nutty with a mild sweetness. It’s mellow and easy to drink, perfect for a more traditional daily cup. Here’s my current ranking based on taste and overall experience: 1. Costa Rica Tarrazu 2. Ethiopian Yirgacheffe 3. Bolivia Peaberry 4. Mexican Medium Roast I'm Excited to try more from Volcanica soon. Highly recommend their whole-bean options if you're looking to step up your home brewing game.

First time trying Volcanica and it's one of the best Yirgacheffe's I've tasted. 100% worth a try!
I use this for 90% pour over with a v60, and 10% with a Bonavita drip machine. Using a Wilfa Uniform grinder, set to 18 for pour over and 23 for drip. With both methods, the lemon and blueberry notes come through loud and clear. The lemon is more tangy than sweet, and the blueberry is more sweet than tangy. Overall, the cup leans slightly acidic which works very well with these flavors. Has a light-medium body that should certainly appeal the average coffee drinker. As a whole, this is a coffee that will make the unsuspecting guest in your home pause after they take their first sip. They will immediately know they are drinking something different/better than what they are used to. This blows away anything you will buy at your local grocery store or coffee chain, and is as good or better than some of the best real coffee shops in my area. Will definitely purchase this one again and will also be trying more from this roaster.

Kind of of enjoyed it.
I'm very familiar with Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee. It's one of my favorites. This batch was good, but not top shelf as I expect from this particular bean. The aroma was mild, the taste mild, and the buzz good, but far from the punch it normally contains as the most potent. So I respectfully gave this review 4 stars for this reason. It's a 12-15 dollar 16oz quality, not a 20 dollar one.

Too many bean fragments...
Really enjoy the flavor of this coffee. However, half the beans were cracked into small fragments. For the premium price, the beans should be whole.

Please Keep Roasting Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Like this Forever
I've subscribed to Votanica's Ethiopian Yirgacheffe for 2+ years which is past time to show it some love. It's a beautiful cup that always arrives nice and fresh with my favorite flavor notes and the exact right roast. QUESTION... what do you suggest if I decide to mix up my selection? FYI... Back in 1980, my former husband and I also started a roastery in our garage 😊

Worst Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee yet
Update after finishing the bag. Probably the worst Ethiopian Yirgacheffe whole bean coffee I've had. Low quality, beans look like a grade 3 or 4. Over roasted, no flavor. The beans taste as if they have been sitting for a long time before being roasted. Very disappointing. Not even a hint of flavor. Cheap commercial coffee beans offer more flavor then this.

Loved the Yirgacheffe and Copan, but not the Kenya AA
Having just bought an espresso machine, these beans were the start of my journey of making lattes at home. After landing on the right settings, I found the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe to be an incredibly smooth and balanced note, with nearly no bitterness and very mild acidity. It was awesome making one of the best cups I've ever had at home with these beans, time and time again, and the lack of bitterness meant I didn't need to add very much sweetener to make an amazing latte out of it. After running through the bag, I thought to try something else and picked up the Kenya AA. I was less pleased with that variety, which honestly came out tasting, at best, a lot like QuickChek's coffee (and at worst, it was so foul as to be undrinkable). You can't rate the varieties separately, so I'm going to assume the Kenya AA just isn't my thing and leave a rating based on my experience with the Yirgacheffe. I wish they sold smaller bags or a variety pack, so newcomers like me to Volcanica can easily experiment and find the roasts we like the most. Update: They have an assortment of their most popular beans sold on their website, and I found the Honduras Copan and Costa Rica Peaberry to be amazing as well.

Scam. Beans were too dark and lacked taste. This is not light/medium roast , misleading labels. Taste was flat, never again!!!
