It isn't classified as an antifungal or an antibacterial, however It is beneficial as a preventative of eye irritation caused by environment by flushing out irritants, germs, and bacteria. By cleansing the eyes, the eyes are soothed and less irritated, therefore a cat is less likely to scratch and rub the eye and introducing more irritants and infection.
