Review: Very informative and Educational - Anyone who's in a neurodivergent relationship will relate and get a better understanding about their partner and relationship. I appreciated how it gives support for both the neurodivergent and the neurotypical partner. I have much better prospective about where my spouse is coming from and now it's about putting the tools in the book to work. Review: Worth the read - There’s a lot of good information in this book that I found helpful. I have to admit that I was left feeling that most of the responsibility for neurodiverse relationships falls on the neurotypical partner. Still there are exercises and activities in this book that I feel are worth trying. This book was a good find that I have recommended to a friend who like myself is in a neurodiverse marriage. I’ll also recommend this book to fellow therapist as work in this area of relationship support is not typical in our training.

Real help — and really positive for your relationship!
This book not only offers real, practical help, but it also talks to couples are struggling with neurodiversity differences in a positive, non-pathologizing way: so refreshing! Kate McNulty talks to both partners about their shared challenges, without either partner being seen as a problem. It offers understanding, specific practices and how to work together for a better relationship and heal what have been conflicts. Disclosure: I asked to review this book, and was given a free e-copy to review. And I liked it so much that I bought a paper copy for easier reference—and to show the couples I work with what I am recommending to them!

This helped me understand my partner a lot better!
I have seen some reviews say that this book lacks practical actions to take for each problem. That is false. This book is full of practical steps, each problem is given an explanation for why it is occurring, a practical example for how you can deal with it (which I have tried and are helpful). Take a step back from things, slow down, try to get an idea of what is going on, and then handle the situation with some of the suggested advice from the book. It's a good book, even for those who are not married or neurotypical, but dating someone with Asperger's or know someone who is.

good intentions paralyzed by woke sensibility
As an undiagnosed 46 year old man, it certainly helped me understand some of the relationship struggles that i've had over the years. But the book isn't written for me.

Lots of sugar coating.....
Facing a new adult diagnosis of Asperger's for my husband has been difficult and this book has made it more so. It appears to be trying to make both partners equal by being even handed and constantly saying all marriages have struggles with communication or socializing. the problems faced by couples with one partner being on the spectrum are HUGE and need to be honestly addressed rather than trying to simplify everything. I decided not to finish it because it was just making things worse rather than helping me to understand how to relate to my partner.

Wonderful Read
I needed this book as I never thought that I would be married to a man with Aspergers. A neurotypical's brain is very different from an Aspbe and coupled with me living in an area that does not typically work with the older population, I need to gather my information from books, This one is invaluable and coupled with "The Fabric of Autism" has helped me tremendously. Thank you, thank you!

One-side book; few tips for Asperger’s partner
Although the book says it offers advice for both partners, most of it focuses on how the NT partner should understand and accommodate the Asperger’s partner. Not likely to succeed based on most models of marital counseling. This book was bought for my wife who is a PHD clinical psychologist who has worked with young adults with autism and who was looking for advise to counsel them and their partners.
