RITUALS The Ritual of Sakura Foaming Shower Gel

I originally received a can of Rituals of Sakura (Japanese cherry blossoms) shower gel in a subscription beauty box. I loved the scent but was hesitant to try it because I have very sensitive skin. I was afraid of looking like a Christmas tree light (my skin turns that particular shade of red when exposed to anything I’m allergic to). When I finally couldn’t take it anymore, I gave it a try. I didn’t have any skin irritation from the fragrance at all and my skin was softer and not so dry. Since then I use many of the products from Rituals of Sakura and I love them all.

I first tried this product after my mom gave me her sample that she received in a FabFitFun box. After the first use I was completely hooked! Since it’s a foam, a little bit goes a long way. The smell is nice and soft, not an over powering perfume smell. My skin feels amazingly soft and smooth afterwards. I also use the lotion which adds to the lingering scent and softness. I never thought I would purchase a more expensive soap product like this, much less the lotion, but now it’s a regimen.

I have dry skin. Flaky, dry skin. Years ago, I bought some skin cleaner (not bar soap) in little Tokyo, L A. Believe it or not, it's "secret ingredient" was fish placenta. Sounds gross, right? It worked wonders for my skin dryness. Well, that product has been discontinued (unfortunately). However, this product works almost as well with less suspect ingredients like milk and cherry blossoms. So why 4 instead of 5 stars? It comes in a high pressure can that makes a sloppy flop of foam. I'd prefer a squeeze tube with a solid cream. Ok. I'm picky. But the end result is very good. Try it.

Great shower mousse! I had received a full-sized bottle in a Macy's Beauty Box and enjoyed using it; however, it has since been taken over by my mother's hospice CNA for her sponge baths because the gel-to-mousse formulation is easier to use than other type of body washes and it's great for my mother's dry skin. Bonus - the lovely smell is noticed and appreciated by all of my mother's visitors! I have since purchased 3 more bottles, in addition to my original bottle.

Upon receiving the body wash, I was able to smell the nice fragrance prior to using; however, I was disappointed as the pump did not work. I have to press very hard and must do it several times. When the product dispensed, it came out rather quickly. I do not know if the bottle I received happened to be defective or if this applies to all the body wash containers.
